The media could not be loaded.  I don't often use the slow cooking method of cooking, but have had other slow cookers in the past that had the basic high and low settings. Turning them off meant unplugging them. I got rid of the ones that I had and recently decided to try the slow cooking method again. In my search for a slow cooker, I discovered this one that was mid-range in price, but had a lot of features that others didn't have.This cooker has the basic high/low cooking modes, but also has a digital timer that the timing can be modified. The default setting for high is 4 hours and for low is 8 hours, but you can set the timer up or down for either setting. When the programmed cooking is done, the unit will automatically go into keep warm mode. When you want the cooking or warming mode to shut off, you do need to press the power off button, but most slow cookers require unplugging the unit to shut it off.I have other cookers with the ceramic inserts that I have found very easy to clean. Non-stick liners are the worst as far as cleaning and staining. This one should be very easy to clean and is dishwasher safe. Personally, I don't clean things like this in the dishwasher, but you can if you want to. The only other thing I forgot to mention in my video is that the power cord is relatively short. So you need to plug this unit into a power outlet that is close to the unit. This has become common with a lot of the newer appliances.Overall, I would recommend this slow cooker. I haven't tried it yet, but plan to make beef stew in it. If I have any problems or the unit fails, I will be sure to update this review. So far, I don't foresee any problems.

I’ve looked all over for a new slow cooker and this seemed like a good value. We followed instructions per the manual on cleaning and heating up water before use. The plastic smell other reviewers have mentioned is true, but it’s not a deal breaker. It disipates with each use. It seems to cook evenly so far and the locking lid is awesome! This is the only slow cooker I’ve found that has the programming and display exactly the way I need it. I love being able to change the time by 30 minutes and see how much time is left! Fantastic! The only thing I would complain and warn about is that the metal body gets really hot while cooking. There is a warning in the manual about it and a symbol on the outside of the body, but I wish they could make it so it wasn’t so hot to the touch. It’s a safety hazard because it makes the countertop below very hot, it could burn its own cord if it happens to touch the metal while cooking, if curious children touch the side, they could get hurt and it makes me nervous to leave the pot while I’m gone even though I’ve cleared everything away from it.

With all the fancy cooking gizmos out there now, it was a challenge to find a crockpot that was simple to use; one that you didn't need to spend an hour with the instruction manual to figure out how to even turn it on! This is the one! How do I know? Because my technophobic wife was able to get it going and cook a meal after a quick read through the manual! She found it produced a more even heating than our old crockpot and the keep=warm feature once the cook timer expired is a very nice feature. You don't really have to babysit the thing.DO follow the instruction to clean and pre-cook the unit to remove any manufacturing odors.Overall, we're pleased!

This was a very well thought out purchase and once again Amazon has a winner in this Crock Pot. Cannot wait to make some chili this winter.

The media could not be loaded.  I have to give it five stars all the way. If you ever read one of my reviews, you know we have six kid,s so cooking can be a pain in the butt. This slow cooker allows me to set it and forget it. Doing my unboxing I notice the cooking pot was nicely made and with a good depth, as it says it can hold 6 quarts. Speaking as a man the best feature for my is the auto shut down, when I leave the house I don't have to worry about over cooking my wife 20.00 roast. I cant say it enough it is so simple to use and cleaning is even easier. The seal around the lid help cut down spill overs and the buttons are very responsive,I love this slow cooker!!!!!

I decided to try this bad boy out with a simple beef roast and vegetables. The vegetables were cooked perfectly and my super lean beef roast was incredibly tender. I love that it automatically switches to warm when it's done cooking. I also love that the lid has a great latch and rubber seal so that if you want to transport the food you cook, you can do so without worrying about spills. If you love to cook during the holiday season, you'll love being able to easily take the food with you without having to transfer to another container. This is a good size for most families. It will handle your Sunday roast, but also work great for soups and stews. All and all, I think it's a great slow cooker.

After using product and no matter how much I clean it I can not get the smell and taste removed from previous recipe. I cooked a meatloaf and the next day I tried cooking tapioca pudding. I gagged on the pudding as it tasted like a combination of meatloaf, pudding and a stew I cooked a couple of weeks prior. No matter how much I cleaned it I could not remove that taste. My wife and daughter could not eat it thus it was tossed. When it was it cooking my wife came and wanted to know what that horrible smell was. I will soak the pan in warm water and soap for a while prior to cleaning it. I also use a slow cooker liner for less cleaning. When I first received this I did not have this problem, recipes were coming out great. Tasted and smelled awesome but now I can not use this.

It's easy to clean; love the clamp for keeping the heat in and moving it without spilling; like the fact that it doesn't have Teflon in it; like the timer on it. I believe this is the nicest slow cooker we've ever had. Reasonably priced.
