Keith Haring is legendary. In his short career he had a deep impact and broke down the wall from consumer to artist and made art accessible to the many not just a discerning few. This book is a great curation of his amazing work and full of great information. Perfect for any street, pop or queer art collector. This is a great addition to my personal library and would enhance others as well.

I gave this to my 18 year old cousin as a graduation gift for completing high school. She's a pretty smart kid with an eye for progressivism and art. My hope is that she uses this book to dissuade douchey frat bros from making a pass at her while she's away at college. If the unusual art and independent-minded ideas contained within don't do the trick, the book is pretty large and hard bound so hopefully she can hopefully practice her swing with it.

As an artist, Keith Haring has probably had the most influence on my work. His work on the sexual-phobias that erupted from the AIDS epidemic is provocative and relevant still today. This introduction to the artist, from the wonderful people at Taschen, is a worthwhile addition to any art lover's library. This particular anniversary edition is lovely because the book has been enlarged and it allows the reader to get a clear look at the work to decipher some of his more complicated pieces. The author not only documents Haring's life, but allows the reader insight into some of the pieces. Haring was adamant that his job was to produce work that was accessible to many. The viewer is meant to place their own opinions on the work and come to an understanding on their own. However, with some of the more complicated or abstract-looking pieces, it is nice to have the author there to act as a guide. I simply love this book. I have no complaints. If you're a Haring lover or a curious art lover, this book is a worthwhile contribution to your library.

I am very accustomed to purchasing the 25th anniversary special artists book only to pre-order this as well as a couple other of there new releases to fine the page quality to be bad, most of all the size of the new editions are about half the size of the prior series. (i guess cheaping out during economical times) The prior 25th special editions are great, these new ones are a disappointment and almost a waste of paper. also funny how they are still charging the same price for much less in these new editions as the older editions. The others bought are Freud, and. Rothko.

普段、一般書では見ないようなディープなゲイワールドをこの本では紹介しており、まさにキースヘリングの本当の姿を垣間見る事が出来ます。かといって不快感を感じるような作風ではなく、どこかユーモラスでどこか悲しげな印象です。子供にはまだ、早いかもしれません。
