Great book for K-6th graders
This is an outstanding book!! As a kindergarten teacher in Texas one has to be creative and engaging to teach our littles about snow. We don’t get to see it often! This book does an amazing job explaining how snow begins as a speak and then grows into a crystal. The text is simple enough for kindergarteners to grasp but could also engaging for students through elementary school. The images are wonderful and the simple sketches help tremendously. I can’t wait to share this one with my students when we return from Christmas break! It will make a great addition to our snow/polar animals unit.

Very interesting
My 3 kids ages 6-9 loved this book. They retained the information well because they were excited to see the snowflakes close up and talk about their features when it finally snowed for us in GA.

Julien's Review of the Story of Snow
The media could not be loaded. The Story of Snow is one of Julien's favorite books. Not only does this book contain stunning pictures of dozens of snow crystals, but it also explains the creation of snow in ways that will engage children young and older. The entire life of a snow crystal, from creation to withering, is included in the book with special emphasis placed on the uniqueness of all crystals and the imperfections that we are likely to see. The easy to read text and great imagery make this book special, and the final page about how to catch and observe crystals will allow kids to try out what they have learned on a snowy day. A Nice Overview of Snow
From a basic perspective, this book introduces children to the wonders of snow. This book shares what snow is made up of and some important features of snow.I found it was amazing how this book also shows some microscopic views of real snow and what it looks like naturally.A note, this book is a mix of real photographs along with illustrations.Overall a great read.

To the point and cleaner layout than most kids books these days.
Teaches how snow forms in a way little ones can understand. I thought the diagrams and limiting what was shown on each page really helped kids focus. I think the overall simplicity feeling when flipping through the book is much better than the jam-packed pop-up text boxes and over color pages of other kid science books.
