Q: How fast does it rotate?

It's quick enough, but not like super speedy or anything! I just timed my one there, and it takses 10.45 seconds for a full rotation!

Q: How long can I keep this on continuously? At what point will it be unsafe to let it stay on, a few hours, a day?

Well, it hovers continuously regardless of whether the light is on or not, but I've had it a year or more, and in that time have forgotten to turn the light off for a full day on a number of occasions.. I've never had an issue, I'd say it's just like any other light!

Q: Safe if not floating?

If not floating the moon stays magnetically attached to the base very firmly. I tend to just keep the light off and keep it floating due to the fact that re-positioning the moon back into position can be quite time consuming.
