Nirvana Futons Westfield Futon Set - Full Size, Frame, 8" Mattress, Twill Burgundy Cover

First, I didn't write many reviews but felt that I need to write for this one. The arrival of my purchase was great. It arrived early but in two shipments. The frame is very sturdy. The pieces were not all labeled. I'm 66 years old and I was able to put it together by myself, but it took me a while. But! the mattress! The mattress had a long stain that I believe was from the wrapping that didn't cover the full length of it. It is the most uncomfortable mattress. It was supposed to be 8" but it doesn't feel like it. I have to put additional pillow just to sit comfortably. Laying on it it awful.

The frame is beautiful, sturdy and solid, and was relatively simple to assemble (took my husband and I about 1.5 hours; was straightforward, just a lot of pieces) but I was very disappointed when we unpacked the mattress. It’s basically a very light tan/beige (not the greenish khaki depicted online) and was much thinner, WRINKLED, and cheaper looking than I’d envisioned (my son has a similar futon with a THICK, sturdy pad of linen and I thought this would be the same).After doing a lot of adjusting, plumping and smoothing with wrinkle-releaser it’s slightly better, and doesn’t look like a frat house anymore. And since this is just going in an upstairs study/guest room I’m fine with it. But I wouldn’t want this for my living room.It IS pretty comfy to sit on, a nice big size and easy to convert into a bed….but it also came with these weird spots that almost look like grease stains. Hopefully I can cover with decorative pillows.So….hope that helps!PS: this also came in three separate packages over the course of two weeks: frame, arms, and mattress. So just be aware!

This futon was pretty easy to assemble even as an older person (60+). I did need some help for the last couple of steps just because the pieces were a bit bulky. I am pleased with the look and sturdiness of the frame - my 400lb boyfriend can sit on it without any creaking at all. I am slightly disappointed in the futon mattress. Although very comfortable, the fabric seams are not well sewn in places, and will definitely need some touch-up work. There are many stray strands of thread hanging that I needed to cut loose and there are a few apparent spots where the pieces of fabric are not well sewn together - it appears the machine missed up to 3/8" of seam in one or two places. This is my only complaint after well over a month of use. Otherwise it looks and performs well. It is fairly easy to go from the fold-out to upright position without assistance if you remember to pull out the bottom first and the mattress along with it about halfway down. Otherwise it can be a little difficult unless you have some assistance from a 2nd person.

Since it's a fairly large piece of furniture, it takes a fair amount of time to do all of the things that are needed to put it together (as you would expect with any large piece of furniture). I found that I needed a screwdriver to hold some bolt receptacles in place to screw bolts into them. The need for a screwdriver wasn't mentioned in the instructions, but there is a slot for a screwdriver on the bolt receptacles, so it was implied.Once put together, it's a very nice looking and sturdy wood futon that switches between flat and upright fairly easily. The cushion is thick and sturdy. I chose to put a full-sized memory foam pad over it (covered by a full-sized blanket) to make it more comfortable.But overall, it's a very nice-looking and sturdy wood futon.

Futon frame was not adequately packed to prevent damage. Components were not completely secured and the wood bundle is only protected with plastic and a thin layer of stryofoam. One of the slats was dinged in (2) places due to loose components sliding around in the box. All of the longer wood pieces are finger jointed - they don't tell you that in the description... Because of the different pieces of wood, the staining is not consistent and you can visibly see some of the finger joints - event on arm rests! Why wouldn't you use a solid piece of wood for the armrests?!? Instructions are decent, but not perfect. Overall it looks good at a distance. The mattress arrive 8 days later with no notice from DCG Stores. The mattress is made to order by Royal Sleep Products in Fort Worth, TX (Go USA!). The queen size mattress is heavy and comes in a tight roll binded by soft plastic - tricky to cut off without damaging the mattress, but I managed. I'm letting the mattress lie flat for a few days to let the foam fill expand to it's normal size. I'm happy with the color I selected (Royal Blue). Overall, I'm satisfied with the overall look, build, and operation of the futon, but not happy with the finger jointed arm rests or the damaged slat and other minor dings. I will keep it only because I could not find another in the style or finish I wanted from other sellers. Giving (3) star review because of subpar customer service when trying to find out when the mattress would be delivered.

Good for the price. Two of the pieces I had to put holes in because they did not go all the way through like they should. It's hard to put back up into sitting position if there isn't two people doing it.

We ordered this for a large-sized sleeping surface for guests. The mattress is very comfortable and the quality of the materials is very good. The sofa assembled fairly easy and looks great.
