Love this show!
We had seen these shows when they were broadcast, but that's been so long that it's almost a new show to us. We've watched the first five seasons so far, and all the episodes (except for one "very special" episode) are very funny. I'd say the first four seasons have a bit more substance, but the fifth is still very enjoyable. As advertised, this is a Region 2 DVD, which is fine for us, since we have a region-free player. One minor thing that I hadn't thought about is that the subtitles are written in British. It's kinda funny to see Tim Taylor talking about the "tyres" on his car!

Great price!
Seller warned about this being a region 2 DVD, which is much appreciated. Considering a computer external DVD player is around $20 on Amazon, you can get 2, set region to each via Windows Device Manager - one to 1 (North America) and one to 2 (Europe) - and enjoy watching. Also, there is software that converts a DVD into a computer file (ripping software) - this can then be watched connecting either a computer to a tv, either copying to an Amazon TV like device. Very good price for this DVD set!

Why is Amazon allowing the wrong region code to sell in the USA?
I didn't notice these dvd set play region 2 which is not the USA. So they will not work on any dvd or blu ray player in the US. I bought a lot of movies to watch so by the time I got around to watching these I missed the return window date. Why is amazon allowing dvd to be sold in the US that will not work on US DVD players? Amazon needs to start vetting these third party merchants much better because I notice a lot of very small business are trying to sell their products on amazon and giving poor products as not described and poor customer service. I wish I could return these dvds and don't know what I will do with them. What a waste of money. The seller should be kicked off amazon

NEEDS PS4 TO WORK
I got the same message about district 2 if I played it on my xbox 1...my ps4 on the other hand can be set up to change the district so it works just fine and its just as funny as I remember from my childhood. So unless you have a ps4 don't buy this product it won't work.

This is not for use in the United States!
I was looking for a gift for my husband's birthday and was excited to find this complete set of home improvement DVDs as it is a favorite of his. I was impressed with how quickly it showed up. As it was there earlier than expected I put it aside and waited for his birthday. When it came time to pull it out and wrap it I noticed a sticker saying that it would not play in my region and that I would need a DVD player from another region for it to play. Needless to say I was very disappointed and had to quickly find a replacement gift. Many DVDs that are for different regions make it very obvious. I had looked but did not go through every detail before ordering. I'm not even sure if I can still return it.

They play good. Please look into the deduction and respond!
The only thing was after the purchase I got an email saying it was a region 2 series. It should have said that on the ad. Also I have recently incurred a deduction from Amazon Prime for $14.12. Not sure what that is for?

Does not work in the US
Deeply disappointed.I ordered this item and when I try to play it in any of my players, including PlayStation, it says that it will not play due to DVD region codes. It took forever to arrive and when it did, I could no longer return due to the time frame. The refund was refused. Stuck with this purchase that I cannot use and out $60.When I went back to check the order on Amazon, I saw that this was referenced in the reviews but since I have never had this problem before I didn't think to check prior to purchase. Learn from my mistake!

A disappointment for sure
I was so excited when I thought I could get the whole series for 60 some dollars. To my disappointment I found out that I needed a regional DVD player and the disks would not play on my DVD player. Why wasnβt this in the description! So now I Paid four the whole series for 68 bucks and now I had to return it and had to pay 48 bucks just to return the thing to great Britain. Not fair to me. I would not recommend buying this if you live in the US.

If you saw this back in the day and wanted to view again this is a great set to own
If you saw this back in the day and wanted to view again this is a great set to own - we used to watch these as a family and saw most but not all of the series. We thoroughly enjoyed watching the them and some new ones to us.Top entertainment from Tim Allen and the gang and a great DVD set to own. Obviously it is not HD Quality but well watchable. We had a great time laughing - you really need to watch it with someone who has seen it before to get it. Its a bit old school with the husband/wife relationship but she get her own back plenty of times. Its all part of the good humour family type fun. With Tim Allen acting the over egotistical power hungry male who only wants the best most powerful tools for the job and generally messes up each time! Al his assistant the all knowing one and actually does the job as is should be done who gives generally great advise to Tim the Tool Man Taylor who of course knowing better completely ignores him and comes of worse for not taking Al seriously. And then there is the secret neighbour across the fence who you are never allowed to completely see and who Tim turns to in times of crises at home for advise. With one of my favourite catch frazes (as well as all th grunting) being "how do you spell that?" Not everyone's cup of tea but you can guess we enjoy it.But I am a sad case LOL

Great show let down terrible packaging
5 stars for a great show, and brings back fond memories of watching it as a child. One star removed due to packaging. It's truly a shame about the abysmal cardboard slip sleeve packaging. Packaging which should stop being made by manufactures as a poor excuse for a money saving technique. They save money during production, but we consumers ultimately end up with damaged discs due to the action of sliding them in and out of cardboard. A small spec of dust will scratch them when taking them out or putting them back. In fact, even removing just one brand new, unwatched, disc just to watch it caused it to become scratched in my experience. Several now have scratches after making my way through watching the box set.I worry about the longevity of the discs, to the point where they will be unplayable.

Its a really funny comedy for the family
I watched this series when it was first shown on Tv a long time ago. I loved it then and its still funny and relevanttoday. The comedy stands up well and is good family viewing. For best results sit with a gap between you and your wife. Every so often you may get a jab when a point is made. If not the look. Also Pamala Anderson had walk on parts during early recordings. Tim the tool man Taylor is a bit accident prone. The story revolves around the family and the tool show. Its worth buying because its one of the best comedies around. Worth every penny and good fun.

Glad To Have It!
Home Improvement is a 90s tv series starring Tim Allen as Tim Taylor, the accident-prone star of a cable tool show. I have fond memories of spottily catching episodes around the irregular schedules of the time, and each one was a hoot. With the whole series now on DVD - and at a great deal, too - it really made a two week holiday in the middle of the lockdown a whole load more enjoyable.

Feeling the nostalgia
Used to love this show as a kid, and have been thinking of getting it for some time. I was trying to wait for it to go onto Disney Plus but I don't think that will be happening anytime soon. The packaging is different (and more cheap) than I thought it would be as I was expecting individual plastic dvd cases for each series, however, I don't think it deserves a mark down as I am still happy with it.The DVD quality is good for a show in the 90s and the episodes play in 4:3 format aspect ratio.
