This device is made from a pretty lightweight plastic. I expected it to have a heavier, more solid feel. I have not used it to break glass, and I hope don’t ever have to. I do like the design of it. I did not mount it with adhesive, I just keep it in my center console. I do wish they educated you on which windows to use this on. I’ve heard it won’t work on all of them.

Great product. However, the adhesive (even when properly using the pre-install wet wipe) does not adhere very well to certain interiors or conditions. This installed well on one side panel of my car, but did not install on the other panel which was slightly different surface type, but one that this is advertised to adhere to. Oh well.

This little device looks like it may save a life! I have had several similar devices over the years and this functions just like those. My worry has always been that I would not be able to access these kinds of tools in an emergency. This device, however, can be mounted anywhere in the vehicle. I like that a lot. Of course I can't be sure that in the event of a severe crash that part of the car where the device is mounted wont be crumpled to shreds but its worth a try nonetheless.The device itself isn't made of expensive material. That's not to say it is cheap. I think it will work well nonetheless. I think the material is "plasticy" in order to be light weight and to make it practical to mount. This is smart and I don't think it will break or is inferior in anyway - it's just not fully metal like most that I have come across. However, I mention all this because I think there are cheaper options made from stronger materials so for $25 the price point is a tad high. But again, this device comes with a mount which other devices don't so the extra bucks you'll spend on this is worth it.And my wife decided against mounting it in our car. She just put in straight into the center console, a black hole, where most of these things go when we don't want to see them floating around the car. I still think mounting is the better option since there is a lot of junk that goes into the center console. I can imagine being upside down after a vehicle roll over, opening the center console and everything falling out onto the floor and out of reach. Just a thought.Of course I haven't tested this to determine if it would actually break a window or cut a seatbelt. If I ever do use it I'll be sure to update my review.Anyway, I struggled with giving this four or five stars because of the price but I think it's worth the extra cash because of the mounting. If you do purchase this I would consider keeping it away from any area you might accidentally kick the thing because you may ruin the mount.

Great emergency tool to have in your center council. Makes me feel a lot safer knowing I have it around. I have not tested it out, and hope I never have to.

I bought this glass breaker just to be on the safer side in case I get involved in an accident. Hopefully I would never have to use it, Ever. On the positive side, it seems to be made from durable materials and should withstand the test of time. I am not sure about the durability of its spring loaded mechanism. Afterall, its just a spring. Relatively easy to install but due to unclear instructions on how to use it, I had to learn it the hard way. I snapped it against my thumb and thankfully it did not break it. One has to push hard on its head to activate it. Belt cutter is nicely covered so that you do not injure yourself accidently. Its lightweight and compact and does not take much space in your car. I would suggest manufacturer to include a proper physical manual rather than just a QR code because its a matter of life and death sometimes and this small tool can save some for sure.
