This reproduction coin arrived well packed with a very nice display case. It is a solid, heavy, satisfying copy of the real thing. Mine acts perfectly as the memorial coin I'd hoped for.

Got this for my son who loves collecting coins. It’s a pretty cool replica, especially if you can’t get the real thing. All that matters is he liked it.

I learned about Hobo Coins quite a few years back but all were too expensive for me to justify buying at the time so I stopped looking. Fast forward to now and I came across these replicas and thought they were too cool to pass up so I bought one. I chose the Hippocrates coin, but there were a few others that I was interested in but I wanted to see one in person first before I bought more. I wasn't expecting too much to be quite honest, thinking it would be a cheap looking knockoff considering the low price, but I couldn't have been more wrong!Pros:-Came in a nice display case with a black sticker tag for labeling. The case was obviously made for the coins because the coin sits suspended in the middle of the case and doesn't touch either side or move around when handling the case.-The details are very impressive and intricate. They are probably made by machine, unlike true Hobo Coins that are carefully shaved down by hand, but for less than $10 I was impressed how clean the lines were and how accurate the product picture was to the coin in real life.-Coin has a nice weight to it, 22.0g, and feels real enough in your hand that I wouldn't guess it was fake just by holding it.Cons:-For some reason the description says it is pure copper, which I don't believe that to be the case since it is silver in color so at the very least it would have to be plated with something else, but the coin is great as is so not sure why the seller even bothers to claim it is pure copper. I didn't deduct any stars because I don't really care what the composition is, but if you do you might want to keep that in mind before ordering.Overall I would absolutely recommend this coin, whether you are a numismatist looking to add a unique art piece to your collection, or you make jewelry and want to turn it into a bracelet, or you want to get a unique gift for a friend, this could be just what you are looking for! And since there are a lot of different options, you'll no doubt be able to find one that fits what you are looking for!

Un "hobo nickel", o "moneda de vagabundo", es una expresión artística muy curiosa, que consiste en modificar monedas, grabándolas con motivos que no son los originales, con lo que se convierten en pequeños tesoros o preciados amuletos para la gente con menos posibles. Tenía alguna moneda de este tipo, pero nunca hasta ahora había conocido su historia, y me ha parecido fascinante. Este facsímil imita el níquel original, una moneda de cinco centavos de dólar con una inmensa popularidad en Estados Unidos, y de todos los diseños posibles, he escogido el del "Grim Reaper" (la Muerte con la guadaña, para que nos entendamos), que no creo que forme parte de ninguna moneda, ni de colección ni de curso legal: esa es la magia de los "hobo nickels". Viene presentada en una caja redonda de plástico para numismática, y tiene un tamaño respetable. Mi intención es utilizarla en algún efecto de magia, soy mas de cartas que de monedas, pero me ha gustado tanto esta pieza, que seguro que le encuentro un uso adecuado. Como simple regalo, amuleto o decoración, también tiene valor seguro. Echar algo a cara o cruz con ella es toda una experiencia: para amantes de las rarezas, sin ninguna duda.

Die Münze ist sehr schick und eignet sich richtig gut als Geschenk.
