AllShihTzu's GIANT Book of Shih Tzu Care Paperback – November 16, 2017

Wow, they were NOT kidding when they said this book is giant! Literally, anything you would want to know about the Shih Tzu - training, possible health problems, breeding information, even their history. The training section comes with so many good examples that explain things better than I've found on other guides, and gave me ideas about how to implement training that I would have never thought of! The health section blew my mind because there were so many issues that I had no clue existed, and wouldn't even know how to Google them if they ever happen to my dog. Now I feel like if my puppy ever gets sick, I'll have a good idea about what's going on and if I should take her to the vet.I was most impressed by how well organized everything is. Each chapter has a descriptive title so if you are looking for something specific about your Shih Tzu, it is easy to find. There are also so many fun facts sprinkled throughout the book, it kept me reading just to find more! The charts are useful, and tips are labeled so they stand out throughout the book, so if you only scan a chapter you can pick up a good bit of info about your dog. The book is large but not cumbersome or heavy because it's a paperback, and it has a lot of cute pictures of Shih Tzus too! I think this is especially great for a first time dog owner, but it would be a good gift for anybody who loves Shih Tzus amd wants to learn more about their behavior.

This was an absolute game changer for me! I’m expecting a Shih tzu this month and he will be my first pet. I had no idea about having a puppy, other than the obvious (feeding, bathing, walks, etc). So I came across this book while googling some things and it had a link to an article and I was amazed at how detailed it was. So I decided to purchase because I don’t like not being prepared for big things like this. THIS BOOK IS SO FREAKING DETAILED AND RESOURCEFUL! I never knew how much info and preparedness went into having a dog and keeping it happy. The number one thing I love about this book is that it gives recommendations to different supplies needed and the things that are super important, they will repeat it several times. And I appreciate that! I feel like I’m super ready for my pup. If you’ve read my review to the end, that means you need to buy this ASAP !

I love this book! It has so much easy to locate information. It should help me to prepare for my little Poncho's one litter of puppies and I intend to provide a copy to all adoptive parents. The book is exceptionally well organized with breed appropriate information. The only negative is not having color photography. I highly recommend this.

I got this Complete Guide for Shih Tzu’s because I had gotten another Complete Guide for Yorkies in the past.Basically any subject that could possibly come up regarding a Shih Tzu for any age the dog may be. I’m not kidding, there is EVERYTHING you could think you might need to know and more.I did find that the info was very accurate and was specific to the breed the book is about. I’m other words I didn’t feel like they just filled in the correct breed and just copied the same info. This really tells you a complete look at what you might need especially if you can’t reach your Vet or want to avoid an emergency visit in the middle of the night.Hopefully that won’t be the issue, but you never know, right?Thank you for truly writing a complete guide!!!

Clear and straight forward has lots of care questions answered.

We have always had bigger rescue dogs, but never a puppy, much less a Shih Tzu. But after our elderly dog died and the cat turned 14, I wanted a puppy and the exuberance of a youngster in our life. This book has helped and been an invaluable reference. From grooming, to feeding, to puppy milestones, health, training, and toys, the book covers every question that has come up and helped me realize that even snorts are ok and normal.The love of animals in my life enriches it, the joy of watching puppy antics makes everyday different, this book helps me be a better parent to my little dog and I highly recommend it.

I bought this book because I have a new Shih Tzu puppy and I felt this would be a great guide together with the in line app. Between the two both have been a great help. I refer to the book or the app constantly. For instance, this morning I was giving my puppy her first bath. Now I had ordered everything that was recommended via the guide and the bath worked out perfectly. If anyone is thinking of getting a new Shih Tzu check out this book and the app. You cannot go wrong. The guidelines and advise this this book is stop on.

This is an excellent book. It covers absolutely *everything*. From the massive table of contents to the photos, and in-depth details of every aspect of this breed, this book is by far the best I have seen. I frequently do canine training and I tell people that it's important to know about the breed you're working with. Because of that, I have read many books, on various breeds. I'm so glad to say that I would recommend this book to anyone with a Shih Tzu. It's a fully comprehensive guide to anything you could possibly want or need for your Shih Tzu, I think I can safely say you'd never need any other book for this breed if you have this one. The All Shih Tzu authors did an incredible job with this book.
