Works well enough for the short term; plastic seal/stopper disconnects from metal piece upon removal. Stays in bottle but easy enough to remove and put back in the metal for next use. Does make it easier for cleaning between uses Update: 1/2 bottle champagne left in fridge for a full week - perfect!!

Works well, but not air tight. Expect a little leakage if bubbly is stored in its side.
