Works!!! I tried 4 other transformers to power a 3000w outdoor commercial infrared heater. The others either started to smoke and almost caught fire - or blew the 20 amp breaker in the first two minutes. This transformer is high quality. It’s only 7 inches wide, has a digital display for the voltage - and has had zero issues powering this heater. The heater draws 15 amps at 60Hz. This is the only upconverter that’s been flawless. The value for the money I saved as opposed to $1000 in electrical work was a huge bonus as well.

This is supposed to be a 5000VA converter, capable of outputting 5000VA of either 120 or 220V AC power. The unit comes supplied with a standard US 120V 15A input plug and similarly sized power cable. However, simple division tells us that, to supply 5000VA at 120V we need about 42A input current, so the supplied plug and cord are underrated by a factor of about 3 and pose a significant fire hazard. I looked inside and the interior wiring is also not adequate for 42A, so you can't fix the problem just by supplying a beefier input cord and plug. Given the input power plug the device should not be used for more than 1800VA and should not be advertised for higher power levels.

I bought this tranformer after reviewing many in the narket. I really needed 5000watt to run my panel saw with two motors and vaccum all run same time at 240v. I was little concerned at first as many tranformers doesnt provide that much wattage.This thing changed life. Runs like champ. Never heats up. Stay cool even after continuous run of upto two hours. I use this as step up and never need to worry about the conversion. It never tripped for me though it has its own breaker. Love this.Only issue is in the first order they sent me 2000w even though paid and ordered for this. I need to wait for couple of more days which delayed my projectsUpdate: after months of usage noticed it makes no noise of its own and never gets warm forget getting hot.

I came to a point in setting up an air pump that I needed more voltage specifically going from 120vac to something in the neighborhood of 220vac. While researching and identifying a solution I came across the OLTEANP 6000 WATT Converter/Transformer and I immediately liked what I saw. The power range was good and the useful features of this transformer were exactly what I needed. It is generally a good idea to know in advance how much power you will need and know what model of transformer will accommodate your requirements. To be sure I had enough amperage etc. I merely purchased the 6000 Watt rated one as opposed to a lessor wattage version. This model is easy to use directly into a 120vac wall plug and then plugging in the air pump directly into the transformer for 220 volts. My amperage requirements did not exceed the circuit breaker limit on the plug for the location for the transformer and consequently all is well with no shut off during operation at the house electrical breaker panel. The transformer appears to be well made and it was a nice solution for my voltage needs.
