They are neither metal nor plastic. They are made of medical glass fiberboard. Medical glass fiber is a kind of clean and environment-friendly material. It is the most comfortable and suitable for human body medical devices（back brace）.

The sizing is given in the product description of the item. Size Large is 35.4 to 41.3 waist. I ordered the XL, my waist is 43 inches. Fits fine.

My son is very thin and the way the straps adjust and adhere with velcro allow for a very good fit. I think this system would work well for all body types and their sizing system is accurate.

Works great

Bought this as a back brace for a pinched nerve in my upper back. Went to the doctor and was told to get a back brace, I didnt even think to ask what kind, went to buy one and realized there are so many different ways to "brace our back". The small tubes in the back of this help give me the little bit of support on my upper back while keeping my back straight so that i can work and not aggravate my injury as much.

Belly bulges.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I didn't really like this product. But, only because of how it made my body look underneath a shirt. It definitely did make my posture better. I just think I need something that doesn't go around my belly.

Bringer of Pain

I got this brace for my upper back where I have a rhomboid muscle that spasms. I purchased this brace and wore it around the house for a day when I got it and oh my, the pain and discomfort in my sciatic nerve is incredible. I haven’t had sciatic pain before outside of a little tightness and this is has me up all night. I’ve tried heat, stretching and a few other things and no help. So far this brace has given me another source of pain and discomfort. Think twice before you make this your fast solution because it can backfire…ouch…I’m going to try to sleep now but my sciatic nerve is screaming! Buyer beware!
