Can I put Lansinoh HPA Lanolin on the pad when I use it? Yes, this is actually a very good idea. Many lactation consultants advise the mother with very sore nipples to put a generous application of Lansinoh HPA Lanolin directly onto the center of the pad and press gently onto the breast thereby eliminating the need to handle a very sore nipple.How are the Ultra Soft Nursing Pads different than your other pads? Our Ultra Soft Nursing pads are thicker because it makes them softer. These pads are actually designed for the later stages of pregnancy or early days of breastfeeding when nipples might be extremely sore or tender. They are specially contoured with gathers that help the pad "cup" over the nipple area to protect it from friction from the pad or clothing. As a result, they are a bit bulky.
