Strong, rich coffee
Brewed in an Cafetiere and served in a mug with a quarter-teaspoon of dark Muscovado sugar and a splash of milk, this is a strong and rich tasting coffee, with just the right amount of bitterness. There's no aftertaste or notes trying to break through - just the pure taste of a fabulous coffee. Especially enjoyable first thing in the morning when I need something to kick start my day. Recommended.

15 table spoons in a bag
Great little coffee but annoyed at the packaging which says 25 cups. If it recommends 2-3 table spoons for a brew... That's 15g per spoon so only 15 table spoons in the whole 227g bag. If you use 1 spoon per cup (weak coffee) that's still not the 25 cups the bag says it brews.

Not suitable for my phin filter
I purchased this as I liked the company ethos in support of Brown Bears. I have been using a different brand that is really good but wanted to try this. It unfortunately isn't the correct grind as my phin filter blocked, failed to drip through and flooded my table. More bitter than my usual brand that is more chocolaty.

A good choice for those who love their coffee strong and flavourful.
I'm pleasantly surprised by the rich, robust flavour of this coffee. I'm not used to milder coffees so this one packs a punch and I like it. It would be a good choice for those who love their coffee strong and flavourful without any bitterness. I'm aware, the vietnamese coffee needs a milk but since I can't drink milk I still enjoy the black one. This coffee is also affordable, its comparable to the high street market prices, but the flavour is I'd say, richer. I would love to get the beans version of this coffee rather than grinded, I could imagine the flavour would be even more intense. From what I've read in the product description, the company behind this coffee is committed to making a positive impact - they donate a portion of their profits to Free The Bears, an organization that helps rescue bears from the illegal wildlife trade. I like the coffee and I like that initiative. Hence my 5 stars.

Quite different to other coffees and not as strong as expected.
This Vietnamese Ground Coffee (227g) has a nice aroma on opening the packet, which has a good airtight seal for storage. The coffee is recommended for the Vietnamese drip-brew method, which I’m not familiar with, but the packaging also states that the filter and cafetière methods are suitable alternatives. My preferred brewing method is to use either a stove-top Mokka or Brikka pot for a more robust brew, with the Brikka giving the most intense results as the brew is pressurised more, resulting in a stronger brew usually with a decent crema. The coffee is ground to a medium grade and is courser than I would normally use for espresso machines, nevertheless it works fine and yields a decent brew with a light coloured crema and a nutty aroma and taste.I don’t agree with the claimed strength grade of 5; it tastes more like a grade 4 to me (and that’s through my Brikka which usually intensifies the flavour strength over the Mokka). It doesn’t come close to the intensity offered by say a Lavazza Qual-Rossa or Il Mattino, but it is a pleasant alternative and one that isn’t going to knock your fillings out.I’d certainly buy this as an alternative to my usual brands as it does offer something a little different, which is nice for a change.

Rich and unique taste
I have never tasted Vietnamese coffee before but heard that it is stronger than the ones we drink in the UK. I made my coffee as usual using my favorite funnel dilter by pouring boiling hot water. First thing I noticed is that the coffee is darker than usual. I added a cubic sugar and a spoon of full milk into the coffee. It smells nice in a strong flavour and it tastes a bit bitter than usual but still smooth. If you like strong coffee, this Vietnamese coffee is worth trying. I am not disappointed with my experiment. I enjoyed its rich and unique taste more after I added a bit more sugar and sweetened condensed milk.

Different and good taste
Coffee ground to a medium size. As indicated it is intended for the Vietnamese drip-brew method which I don't think is very widespread or easy to find. This same grind level is suitable for Italian and filter coffee machines. For the French press it can be a bit fine, but if we don't mind finding coffee residues, we can also use it. The grind size is very homogeneous. The smell, both when opening the bag and when brewing, is spectacular. The dark roasted beans transfer to the liquid coffee with a dark tone and a somewhat strong, bitter taste. It is not as strong as I expected but the taste is good.

Strong and rich coffee
This Vietnamese ground coffee is strong, deep and rich in flavour. It brews well in a standard cafetière, though is somewhat foamy, so I would advise not filling right to the top. The coffee has definite notes of dark chocolate. Whilst the flavour is bold and aromatic, I personally find it rather bitter and coarse, so I can really understand the recommendation in the product description to drink it with condensed milk added. I would also recommend adding evaporated milk for a less sugary option.
