Holes: An Instructional Guide for Literature - Novel Study Guide for 4th-8th Grade Literature with Close Reading and Writing Activities (Great Works Classroom Resource)

I am a public school teacher. I used this guide in 2017 with my students as we read the novel. It was very well done, and addresses the Common Core beautifully. I have also used this series for other literature. The instructional design is great, as you can provide a moderate amount of challenge or a great deal of intellectual challenge depending on your students. I teach a group of regular education and gifted students usually, so this works well for me. Even my gifted students had to stop and take time with the analysis tier of questions provided, which is exactly what you want. I strongly recommend this particular book, and the others in the series.

This is a great companion piece to the novel. My son was struggling with reading retention in school..so we used this at home. We would read part of the book before bed and then do the exercises in the book together over breakfast in the mornings. I will be looking for more of these very soon.
