Bambu Lab Hotend X1 Carbon Assembly with Removable Hardened Steel 0.4mm Nozzle Hotend for Bambu Lab X1 Series 3D Printers

the ability to swap the whole hot end is great for my p1s. its great that i can swap out just the hardened nozzle

I ordered two of these to replace the OEM stainless hotend, installed, and I thought everything was fine. It was not fine. During the first real print, filament started oozing from the nozzle where it screws in. This caused a buildup of filament over the ENTIRE nozzle to the point that the thermistor and ceramic heater failed, and caused the TH board (where they plug in) to fail right along with it. It took a month to troubleshoot with Bambu Labs and get a new part here.I had the second one on hand and I installed it after I installed the new TH board thinking that I had a single defective unit and there was no way another one would also have the same issue. Again: wrong. I watched the first forty seconds of the nozzles inaugural journey. Almost immediately? Oozing. I uninstalled before it could cause any real issues and will not purchase this brand again. You shouldn't either. There's a very clear issue with the quality, as I am not the only one who has experienced leaking from these hotend assemblies. Yeah, the OEM costs more. It's all one piece. That's all very annoying. But it's considerably LESS annoying (and less costly) than failed prints, lost time, and potential damage.

This hotend is the best Mod I have found thus far for a bambu labs printer by far. The ability to change nozzles quickly and to use CHT nozzles has really been a game changer for me. My print speeds have gone up a little higher. With the CHT nozzle I have been able to hit very close to 500mm/s with PLA. PLA!Given how much less it is to buy a nozzle for this hotend, vs buying a new hotend from Bambu Labs. A new CHT (high flow) nozzle is between 6 to 20 dollars (if you want a ruby nozzle its in the 20's). So $6 dollars for a new nozzle vs $35 from Bambu Labs.Setting up the hotend can be a bit of a pain in the butt, the first time (but it is exactly the same procedure if you are going to set up a new hostend from Bambu Labs. dont use too much of the heat contact paste for the heater, then slide the clip in the right orientation onto the hotend. Screw in your nozzle, then put on your sock (after you clean your hands from the contact paste). Add the fan to this hotend then you can mount into your P1S or P1P.

Honestly it was easier then it looked after I got the parts and looked at everything - finding the picture I've added made all the difference... especially since my hot end was covered in plastic and unable to see it to compare.

The media could not be loaded. The way the nozzle sticks out from the sock is leaving it exposed. This causes the filament to stick to it when it expels filament. The stock Bambu nozzle exposes very little from the sock.This is causing issues with my prints since installation.Other than that it works. Might be ok for a backup hot end, but I'll have to order another hot end that is stock from Bambu to get proper prints.Edit - Spent more time with it.Moved the sock down closer to the tip. Calibration cube prints, but shifted mid print. Never happened until I installed this hot end. Honestly, I think its unusable at this point. Waiting on a original Bambu hardened steel .4 hot end assembly.

The item on the left is from the factory, as I removed it from the package. The heating element and thermistor wires are supposed to run up the middle, like you see with my stock Bambu hotend.What you see in the hotend that I purchased is the wrong side is facing in this direction.I know I can take it apart and switch it around but should I have to do that? No.If the part can leave the factory literally backwards is it likely to be generally of poor quality? Yes.I'll have to return this and buy the real thing, unfortunately. It's not worth interrupting production.
