It's a water main key. It works, and it was cheap. Doesn't get much better than that. Note: I did put the actual key end into my vise and squeeze it together about a 1/4" simply because it felt a little too open. I'm sure it would have worked fine without men doing this.

This was just what I needed. Not sure if it is powder coated or paint but has a glossy black finish. The bright red rubber grips are easy on the hands and no more climbing head first into the water meter housing with a crescent wrench to turn off my water. Good sturdy product that may become very handy when there is a need for it. Overall, good construction.Reason why I took 1 star off is because of the jaw gap. It is very wide compare to the dial of the meter. Not sure why it was made this wide. You have to play with it to catch the dial. Mine was very easy to turn once I engaged the jaw and the dial.

This is a pretty straightforward tool meant for one job. For that, it's strong enough to handle my stubborn and little-used water shut off valve, so I give it full marks. Hopefully, it's seldom used. Pro-tip: put it someplace you'll remember with easy access, and let others know about it as well. And if you live in a place that has black widow spiders, they like to hide in the ground-access water meter/valve boxes, so use a tool to remove the cover.

This water meter key fits the water meter perfectly. I was looking for something with fast shipping that was inexpensive that I could use to turn the water meter back on out of the street. Nothing else I tried was getting the meter to budge. Crescent wrench, elbow grease, etc. To my surprise as soon as I tried to turn the water meter using this key, it turned with ease. Definitely worth having in your arsenal.

What can I say? It does what it's supposed to do. All you need to do is figure out how long it needs to be, then order the proper length. It's sturdy & well made. It will, no doubt, outlast me by decades. So, yes I recommend it.

this key fit my shallow water meter key, very easily to turn the valve.

La llave es buena pero me molesto demasiado que amazon me la mandara con este daño, es una llave hecha de varilla de acero y para lo doblada que estaba es obvio que asi la tenian en bodega no se daño en el trayecto del envio por que la caja donde vino estaba impecable, en mi opinión debieron cancelar el envio por el daño que tenia y asi evitarme el tramite de regresarla.

If you are looking to shut off your house water at the street, you will need a sawzall and a metal blade to cut the end down for width and length. It is specifically designed to NOT for municipal valves. Once you cut it down, it is great.
