Good size for starting a starter
I love the band with the feeding tracker. So much better than using a mason jar with a paper towel and rubber band like I used before

Great Sourdough Kit with Handy Accessories – Just Keep an Eye on Overflow
This is a quality product with great features, but I ran into a few issues. First, I really like the jar itself. The glass has a thickness and weight similar to a mason jar, and the wide-mouth design makes it easy to feed the starter and transfer it without a funnel. The accessories are really useful, too. I love the feeding tracker band, the measurement marks on the jar, the stick-on thermometer, and the cloth cover. These all make managing your starter simple and organized.I’m deducting a star (a half-star if I could) because my Herman Sourdough Starter overflowed significantly, creating a mess on my counter. The grooves around the top of the jar were tricky to clean afterward, and the cloth cover got pretty messy, too. Since sourdough starter is so sticky and full of gluten, it’s tough to clean off any surface. I didn’t want to throw the cover into my washing machine, so I ended up turning it inside out and putting it in my dishwasher, which did the trick! For reference, I used the Herman Sourdough Starter recipe published on a recipe blog called GB's Kitchen. This recipe calls for 2 cups of flour, 2 cups of warm water, 1/4 cup of sugar, and one packet of yeast (which all fits into the jar with room to spare before it activates and expands). If you use a different recipe, you may not run into this problem. However, I recommend placing it in a larger container to catch potential overflow or starting it in a larger container until it’s finished expanding. The first time I made my starter, I discarded the overflow, which affected its growth. The second time, I caught the overflow in a 4-cup liquid measuring cup, scrubbed the jar clean, and then transferred the starter back, which worked much better. I’ve included two photos: one showing the overflow and the other showing how full the jar was after I cleaned it and transferred the starter back in.Overall, I’m happy with this purchase, but just be mindful of the potential for overflow, especially if your starter is particularly active!

Works well I like the spatula
This worked well. I liked having everything a beginner would think they needed. In reality I needed a jar and the spatula. You can see if it rises without the band.. and the cover and thermometer were also unnecessary. I ended up with great bread

Love the container
Love this very usable container, unfortunately this starter was a dud.

All in one starter jar
Great combination of thermometer, jar and marker for dough rise. Perfect size for feeding dough. Lid seal is tight.

Great idea
Nice size jar cleverly marked and comes with a temp tape display and an elastic band you can align with a marking on the jar. This helps you know when to feed your starter. A lid for when you want to refrigerate and a cloth cover for when you leave on the counter.

I like the ideal
It was great for starting my sourdough starter but it is to small to continue to maintain it like I hoped
