Igniter, oven

13 year-old Bosch gas oven
I used this "universal after-market" product to repair my 2005 vintage Bosch range oven yesterday. So far it is working fine. You can easily find youtube videos that are very helpful for the repair steps, and to give you confidence that this is the correct part. Google your oven brand and "replace ignitor". The Factory part would have been $85. at my local appliance dealer, and would have taken longer to arrive. Physical comparison of this part to the original that I removed revealed that the new one had a slightly different bracket with a flange and holes that would have allowed me to mount it upside down (if it would have fit that way) no doubt to accommodate a different oven. Also, the new part's flange was a thinner gauge metal. Otherwise the new and old parts look identical, and neither of the differences affected the installation or function. From other reviews or answers I learned that the ceramic wire nuts are easy to miss in the package and that the new igniter should be handled with care because the element can be easily cracked. Both good tips. Installation, aided by above mentioned video, took about 20 minutes. Only tools required were a flat blade screw driver, a torx (star shape) screwdriver, and a pair of wire cutting pliers. Be sure to unplug the range before starting. Oven door removal takes less than a minute ( no tools) when you see how to do it on the video. You might be able to work with the door on, but it would be way more difficult. Be sure to tighten the wire nut securely, and tug to test. If you need to, you can also access the wires from the back of the stove. If this is not the first time igniter-replacement you may see the previously used wire nuts from the back.

Exact replacement for capital culinarian oven
This is the exact part Capital uses in their gas oven. You need to crimp on appropriate fast on connectors (or you can switch to the supplied wire nuts). Works great and appropriate price! Will buy a spare to keep on hand.

Works on GE Profile gas oven!
This worked well on my GE Profile gas range (I don’t know the model # of my stove, but it came with my house built in 2007).The only downside was that it only came with 2 of the ceramic wire caps (or whatever their called). One of them was faulty, so I had to go get a spare. Other than that, it seems to be working fine!

Worked for my Bosch oven
Worked well for our Bosch, which is about 10 years old. Be careful to not twist the ceramic nut to hard. Mine had some particles flake out of it and I had to double up the wires to get them to grip. Otherwise, it fit perfectly and works fine. I am moderately handy and install was easy.
