Works like a charm!
We used the Ursack while in Yellowstone National Park, backpacking for 4-days. Being in bear country, we were extremely careful with keeping all of our "smelly" things in a smell proof bag, and then placing them in the Ursack bag for protection as well. Using the Ursack made me very comfortable that Bears would not get into our goods. It's strong, durable, and I know some people say heavy, but I don't think it's that heavy at all. It maybe weighs roughly 1 pound. Some of our friends carried bear canisters that weighed 5-pounds and complained about the weight of those, while the Ursack was never an issue for us. I think the price is a little steep for these bags, but I would definitely buy again when/if we need it... but honestly, I think this one may last us a great while.

Highly Recommend!
I love this bag for hiking. I can put all my food and any other odorous items in it along with using the Opsak. I have yet to have any issues with it. I hike the A.T. and literally had to hang it on a broken branch on a small tree one night in an area bears are known to be....nothing touched it overnight ! I have two...a smaller version for shorter hikes. My only complaint and it is minor ...is it is hard to completely close the opening.....I have tried numerous times and there is always a tiny opening still.

and it kept out the small critters
So far as worked 100% of the time... and it kept out the small critters. I have taken this into bear country a few times and I suspect part of that is just luck that no bears wandered through our camp, but I did watch small critter just ignore it.

Best bear bag money can buy.
I bought this to take on my AT thru hike last year. Turns out I didn't actually need it, an Opsak alone is enough to sleep with your food. The added peace of mind is worth it. I definitely recommend the major so you can actually fit a weeks worth of food inside if need be. Got lots of attention on the trail, and early on when I was hanging my bag on lines with 20 other bags it really stands out. Can personalize with a permanent marker also.

but you’ll be glad when you need to pack a lot of food ...
Very durable. Don’t be cheap, buy the largest size available. You can always fold down or scrunch up the empty part of the bag, but you’ll be glad when you need to pack a lot of food and toiletries and NEED all of the space. You tie this to a tree at chest/head height...saving a lot of time if your other option is to hang a bear bag. As long as you do a decent job tying it, animals won’t be able to get in.

Great product, wrong one was shipped.
I hate to give less than 5 stars, but the bag I received was not the MAJOR (925cu in), it was the 650cu in bag. See the attached pic, the tag and barcode do not match.I've returned it and re-ordered, I'll amend the review if I receive the right bag this time.Check the product you receive folks.

It’s a spectra bag. Not much to say other than its exactly what is advertised.
Will update this in July. My initial thoughts are that this is exactly what is advertised. A spectra bag, made to be rip resistant if or when a bear decides to TRY and run off with it. I’m hoping this will be chew resistant for little critters in the Boundary Waters. Will update that here as well.

great alternative to bear cannister
Recently used on 12 day hike on Florida Trail. Used w/ OP sack to reduce food odors. I escpecially likedbeing able to comply w/ Forest Service guidelines even when hanging wasn't possible. Passed through andcamped in active bear area w/ no issues, while some other campers reported having their food bags ripped into!
