A good addition to a nice long bath
I can't compare it with the other similar caddies on sale, but this is a well-made, sturdy little thing and does exactly what it claims with no problems - holding a book, wine glasses, candle and a few odds and ends without any problem.A couple of notes, though, so you don't expect too much: first, you'll have to keep at least one hand out of the water to hold the book open (but then, you'd have to keep a hand dry to turn pages with anyway so this isn't a big sacrifice). Second, the candle is placed behind the book and so only lights the pages at a shallow angle - you'll probably need some extra lighting to read by. But the candle looks good and we use others around the bath anyway, so this hasn't been a problem.Overall this a great product, not at all tacky, and was a very successful Christmas present for my wife - highly recommended!

Lovely idea...not so good long term
This is one of those fantastic things, which usually turns up under the Christmas tree, or on a birthday and seems to make an ideal present for the bath lover in your life.Except, like a lot of presents, it is likely to end up in the big cupboard of not-quite-as-good-as-they-first-appear gifts, including the foot spa and the bread maker. You can't fault the idea, it's just the execution which falls down (like the book holder, occasionally). A few design rethinks and this could be the top product you'd expect for the price. The gadget itself sits across the bath, with adjustable "arms" to cope with most widths of tub. The metal lattice includes a storage compartment for your soap, rubber duck and loofah. Screw on attachments include a candle holder and a wine glass holder. In the centre the book holder has several adjustment angles. As previous reviewers have spotted, the device does not hold your book open for you, which limits its usability somewhat. Regardless of whether you have to keep a hand dry, or not, it seems silly to have a book holder which you have to constantly hold to use. Unfortunately the wine glass holder is awkward to get the glass in and out of, and after several attempts my wine glass was relocated to the side of the bath. The candle holder resolutely refused to be a good fit for any standard candles we could find. For the bigger bather, you'll also find the rack creates a problem of where to stick your knees out of the bathwater, as it will get in the way.The construction, chromed steel, with plastic coating on the adjustable arms, is okay, but you'd expect higher quality for the price. And in the steam of a bath it will rust within a few uses, especially where the attachments attach, screw holes and those adjustable arms. Sticking to non-ferrous material would have seemed a no-brainer in an object designed to be used in a wet and steamy environment!Make it out of plastic, or non-ferrous metal, and come up with better construction and a more clever design for the book holder, and I'll buy again. This one remains rusting in the cupboard.

Great idea - badly done
I bought this as a joke present for my Grandson who has discovered the joys of reading in the bath and anything that encourages him to read is OK with me. What a disappointment. The idea is good but the actual design and practical use is simply awful. Frankly I was so annoyed that I have thrown it in the bin. A great company like Amazon should not have anything to do with rubbish like this

still shining
Bought for my girlfriend to have some relaxing bath reading and do the job fairly well.two problems:there is nothing holding the sides in place and, although they dont just slip around or anything, they do move a bit which is not great when you've got a candle held up by the thing. There is no page holder for your book. pretty big and annoying oversight i think.it is a nice looking thing, got me some brownie points and is still shiny after about a year or so since i bought it.

Just what the Dr ordered
The Caddy is great if you have a free standing bath and need somewhere to put your bits and bobs. You do have to watch the rust marks on the candle holder and the extending arms once they get wet a few times, but the rust does easily wipe off.

and... relax.
Wanted this for Christmas but had to wait until my birthday instead.I haven't actually tried it out with the candle or wine holder yet, just with a book. The negative things are -There is no page holder so if you have a brand new paperback it will just close up unless you spoil the book by bending it the other way being careful not to break the spine. I have used it so far with a large hardback very used library book so it's fine with that although I do find that the pages are still trying to close. Also, the book holder does not screw into place (it just rests) therefore it is best to place the book into the holder once you are in the bath and lying/sittng down as one nudge and the book could be in the water!Saying that, I would still want one but they should sort out the design defects really, especially as it's not cheap!
