The Illustrated Picatrix: the Complete Occult Classic of Astrological Magic

This book contains powers that can be dangerous for the layperson, the unprepared or the arrogant. Be pure in mind and heart and if you wish to use this only for your selfish gains and/or for material gains alone refrain from it.

Not cheap but well made and researched. An index would have been nice.

A challenge .

Definitely an outstanding book, well researched and translated by Warnock and Greer, it makes learning traditional elective astrology a worthwhile endeavour, my only quibble with the book is that the illustrations for the faces differ completely from those given in the instructions, in other words you are left clueless as to what the illustrations are for.

I’d like a refund.

I want to echo the review from the US site (which I wish I'd read before ordering!) who pointed out that the harcover version ACTUALLY IS the paperback version (which is a pretty poorly produced version) glued into a generic hard cover with a dust jacket (which is a poorly printed reproduction of the paperback cover, not centrered, grainy, just awful). There are no markings on this hard cover, just a plain blue, very low quality hard cover where the thin paper that covers the board isn't even properly stuck down to the board. But that's not the worst thing: the cover isn't even glued on straight! So in my case, the book I received looks like one of those books that have been poorly stored on a shelf without enough support and the book has become warped from standing askew for too long... except that on closer inspection, you realise that it was built that way! It's shocking. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on the new translation that's coming out in eary February (2019) to replace this pig's ear...

There is a lot of knowledge in this book but i found it very hard to understand. I just realized how much more i have to learn.🙂

It's a popular ancient magic manuscript. With this edition there is much more to be appreciated as each of the illustrations and examples of figures are expertly included in key areas, making this a valuable for wizards and armchair occultists alike

One of the most intelligent grimoire... nothing to do with the late medieval and early Renaissance crappy mainstream french or italian grimoires; nor with the modern neopagan pseudomojo.

Lousy Binding!Fortunately the content is excellent, a very good Translation of a very important work. I would have given it 5 stars were it not for the binding.Hope this helps.

the Picatrix is an interesting read. this book has information regarding the Zodiac, creating talismans, developing an understanding of science and astrology, prayer, and several others. all valuable knowledge to be aware of when committing time and energy to working with mystical forces.while some of the recipes require ingredients that are either illegal or very hard to procure, the overall theory of the Picatrix is of one that leads the student to have a better grounded understanding of the world that they are about to enter.
