i have been fishing a few times recently and have been getting soaked. So i thought i would invest in a decent umbrella.On receiving the umbrella it came in a very nice carry holdall which is red to go with the red umbrella too. The red is bright red so at fishing i stuck out like a sore thumb. (but i love red and the colour is greatWe went fishing on monday just got and the weather was terrible all day. On setting up i took it out of the case and opened it up and to my surprise its huge and very good size, i was able to sit under the umbrella very easily with a chair and mange to have all my fishing equipment under it to and keep myself dry, it rained all day and we was there from 9am till 6pm and the umbrella withstood the rain all day, the only parts where the water got in was on the sun shield visors not much water got in but they are more for getting ventilation from the heat.it was very easy to set-up and comes with all the pegs that you will need to hold the umbrella down. some of the pegs are rather impressive and are a good size to hold down the sides and it wont bend as they are rather strong and a circle head on the peg to use a mallet to hit in.i would recommend this for all types of use as it would be great for a sun shield or in my case for keeping dry in the rain and was great for fishing.the only thing which was annoying but is the same with these types of umbrellas that it is hard to get back in the caseVery good and the person i went with was a little bit jealous as his was tiny.

Bought for use as both a sunshade and a shelter from wind and rain.Even though I had read previous reviews and the product details, I was still surprised by the open size of the umbrella. The size is an advantage when sheltering - we have found it very comfortable for two adults, but a disadvantage when storing. We had hoped to keep it in the boot of our car, but it is very slightly too long to fit across the car (so I advise checking dimensions, if that's what you have in mind!).The umbrella is of reasonable quality and has no obvious manufacturing flaws. The pegs were a little oxidised when they arrived, but that doesn't impact upon their function - just a little annoying to have a non-pristeen new product.In use, the umbrella seems very stable, though we haven't used it in strong wind. The shade generated, provided you align it with the sun appropriately, is generous.I would recommend for use as a shelter on the beach or in the park, especially if you have children. It is quick to put up, relatively easy to carry, and provides reasonable coverage usable by adults and children alike.

My daughter does Athletics, and I spotted someone else with this. This is the best thing I have bought. You just need to ensure that the umbrella is facing against the sun or wind / rain to ensure maximum cover from whichever element you are sheltering from, which does occasionally mean not facing the direction you really want to. I went to an Athletics meeting last weekend, I believe the temperatures reached 30 degrees, with no shade available, this was a godsend. We easily fit 2 camping chairs either side, and we take a trolley with lunch / kit in, which I put behind the pole. We could probably fit a 3rd chair in at a squeeze, but certainly comfortable for 2. I did consider the XL size, but I am glad I didn't get this, as seeing it now, this is plenty big for myself and my daughter. I see so many with tents, which get very hot, and I'm one of these people who just cannot bend the tent poles to put away in the bag, and would make a comedy scene just trying it. So many of the kids in these tents complaining that they are hot, and you can't sit your chairs in them. I also see parents struggling to carry umbrella gazebos which are great to shading a large area for you to sit in, but are so big and heavy to carry. For me this is a great in between option. I have used now about a dozen times in all weathers, and would recommend this. just make sure if it's windy to let it down, the only thing missing is a hammer, but Good job my daughter does shot put, great use of a sporting implement to hammer in the pegs!

We have just returned from our holiday in Gower and used the umbrella a lot whilst we were away. Really pleased with how easy it was to transport, set up, use (plenty of shade cast by it) and pack away at the end of the day. It was definitely money well-spent and afforded us shade and protection throughout our holiday. It was pretty gusty on a couple of days - but no problem for our new umbrella, and the use of a couple of strategically placed large pebbles, at no point did we have to chase down the beach after it... just as well as the beaches are miles long!! We would absolutely recommend this umbrella :)

Got this for taking to outdoor dog shows and now used it a few times and it's done the job of protecting my dogs and their crates/beds and my things from the rain and bright sun. Has enough space for what's needed but I would like it if the centre pole could be detached to give more room as this does restrict what can be out in the centre. The shelter is good quality compared to another I bought and had to return. The case is reinforced/padded at the bottom which supports the brolly (other make burst on first use). The pegs are strong and there's guy lines for when it's windy but I've not needed these yet. All in all this is a good shelter and does what's needed.
