This book is a scam. The criteria for the exam is much more in depth and complex than what is being layed out in this book. Also, there are only two exams in the book and the remaining 3 are online. The online versions are very different form the physical version. In short this company wanted to make a quick buck and they produced a quick bs version which is this

Excellent resource for anyone that wishes to pass the CSCS test!I have reviewed several test prep manuals in various areas of study, and I have to say that the CSCS study guide for 2024–2025 is one of the most complete and concise test prep manuals I have ever seen. It is an excellent resource for anyone who wishes to successfully pass the CSCS test in order to receive NSCA certification.The book contains a quick overview of the test, test-taking strategies, bonus content available for the test-taker, and an introduction to the CSCS exam. It also includes a study prep plan for the CSCS exam.The book is sectioned into the different areas of the CSCS exam as follows: Exercise Sciences, Sports Psychology, Nutrition, Exercise Technique, Program Design, Organization, and Administration, and Testing, Ongoing Monitoring, and Data Evaluation. Each section goes in-depth about that area of study, and then has a practice quiz, and the answers which are thoroughly explained at the end of the section.The book also contains five complete practice tests for the CSCS exam, each of which has the answers and their explanations. There’s also a QR code to receive extra video resources absolutely free to the test taker.This is without a doubt a valuable resource, for anyone who wishes to become certified in this area of study of professional fitness and sports training.

If you are currently studying to become a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, I highly recommend you purchase this CSCS study guide from Test Prep Books. The book starts with test taking strategies and encourages the reader to come up with a study schedule that works for them and to stick with it.Then the book gets into the meat and potatoes of all you will need to know in order to pass the test to become certified. This includes muscle anatomy, biomechanics, nutrition and sport psychology. The book even covers the effects of drug and alcohol use on the body while strength training and how anxiety and eating disorders can affect a person (while training) and much more. Following each important chapter, you will be able to take practice quizzes and tests and you can even view the tests online if you prefer studying on a screen. If you are interested, Test Prep Books will send you free videos or a DVD with more test taking tips. This company really gives you a lot of bang for your buck. I have used multiple study guides from them and have gotten good results.

I have mixed feeling about this study guide but overall it comes up short for helping to pass the current CSCS test of 2024. I studied this book front to back for multiple months. I passed the first section but not the Practical Applied section. My assessment is that this study guide prepared you well for the science foundation section but not the practical applied. There were many questions in the CSCS but not in the study guide. The study guide stressed information that was either in the test for small amounts or not present. Lastly the practice tests in the study guide featured information that was not in the study guide. My final recommendation is this study guide might be a useful tool to help pass the CSCS, but other help is needed.

This a good book, good details, good notes.

This was a well organized and easy to read study guide. Very up to date training methods and physiology information. Although maybe the most helpful were all the practice tests as these felt on par, if not harder, than the actual exam questions.-Tim Madison DPT OCS
