I'd give this a 4.5 out of 5. It was diabolically hard. Please don't depend on their web tutorial and hint system to solve it, especially for Step 2. It is rather unclear, and as near as I could tell, one step was actually the opposite of what they recommended (unless I wasn't understanding that set of instructions). I did figure it out, eventually. One thing to note. If you are planning to give this as a gift, work out solving it yourself, if possible. Do it several times. I noticed that the first two times, some of the mechanisms got stuck. It is getting better with each activation. At one point, I couldn't even get it to go back together because one of the dials jammed inexplicably. It locked in the code to release one section, but then would not unlock to reset it. Took a bit of gentle shaking and a light tapping on the base to kick loose whatever went wonky. Overall, a really great puzzle box with some difficult and non-intuitive parts. Definitely recommend. Just be careful.

I liked the design and sturdiness of the Quest Tower, as well as the thought process used to create this engaging puzzle. However, one's thought process in solving this puzzle may be inhibited by small cryptic "clues" placed on various areas as part of the puzzle's overall design, which one may not pick up on. Some clues don't seem to make sense or necessary. Also, a few puzzle pieces may get jammed and need more force than should be needed, making one feel that it may break and then unable to solve the puzzle. I did run into this problem, but was able to solve the puzzle without damage. I have purchased all the escwelt puzzles, however I returned the Ft. Knox puzzle due to the poor tolerances of the moving pieces. Tolerance problems, nonsensical clues, at times, and instruction videos lacking a bit more details are the only slight problems with escwelt puzzles. Overall, I would definitely recommend purchasing The Quest Tower.

Great gift for teens to adults. Keeps them busy for about 90 min

Three engineers who love puzzles worked to solve this box on Christmas afternoon. It was so interesting to hear them talk their way through the logic of solving each step. The box itself is made really well and the puzzles proceed in a linear fashion. Surprisingly, given the quality of the puzzle box, it comes in very cheap looking cardboard box packaging. I removed it from the box and put in a gift bag. Excellent customer service. The puzzle shipped in a plastic bag with no padding. The first puzzle arrived damaged but a replacement arrived quickly and I had time to trade it out for the damaged puzzle before Christmas.

I have done several of these types of puzzles. The puzzle “language” takes one or two to learn then they become more obvious how they deliver clues. The space rover has been the most frustrating. The first step is an eye test, rather than a true logic puzzle, a dark “S” shape on a dark piece of wood. The second step requires several nonintuitive logical leaps which, despite watching the hint video several times, I cannot fathom how one would be reasonably expected to solve without the hint video. I have not previously returned one of these puzzles. I will be returning this one, as the puzzle is not so much difficult, but rather neither intuitive nor reasonably solvable with a logic sequence.

I purchased this enigmatic box as a gift, and it truly amazed everyone. The puzzle's complexity adds to the intrigue, and solving it becomes an engaging challenge. Additionally, the wooden finish and tower design make it a beautiful interior item. I highly recommend the Quest Tower Box as both an intriguing decoration and an entertaining puzzle!

I buy a different puzzle box for my grandson every Christmas. He loves solving them
