10" UPVC Door Letterbox, Letterplate - Black Letter Box - Midrail (40mm-80mm)

The postman broke my letterbox flap and I spent ages looking for a replacement. This matched perfectly. Make sure you measure correctly. My husband easily fit it. The only alteration we had to do was cut off the funnel screw things on the front as we needed to use the 4 screw holes. It was easy to do with a kitchen knife. A good price and it looks nice and sturdy. I’ve now ordered a new door handle to match so I will have a spruced up front door!

Though this item is plastic it seems sturdy enough to do the job. Easy to fit using my own screws rather than the bolts included.

Old style (not draft proof) letter box broke. The door was over 20 years old and most newer letter boxes wouldn’t fit. This not only fit, but provided additional draft proofing. Installation was relatively easy. A decent quality, value for money option.

I searched to find a 10 inch letter box that could be secured with 4 screws with the correct distance between them, this was the only one that looked to fit my requirements. It came with good instructions and fitted well, I had to cut the plastic funnel bit off the back of the 2 central screw holes as I wanted to use the 4 corner ones, but this was easy with a craft knife. It looks smart, only having the brushes on the inside means the post goes through easily, it doesn't let in draughts like my old one and doesn't rattle in the wind, so I'm pleased with it.

Got the bigger size which states its 40-80 as my doors measures 40 and thought if I ever have a wider door it would fit however its more like 50 which means it was hanging off door and going to need to cut it down. Otherwise its nice and easy to change out.

I hadn't realised that finding a replacement letterbox for my uPVC door would be so difficult. Having measured the distance between the fixing screws, the door width and the size of the letter hole, this seemed to be a good fit, although not all 10" replacements have the same dimensions, according to the descriptions. Installation was simple, unscrew the two fixing screws to remove the old letterbox. The screws supplied with the new letterbox were the same length so I just used the old ones. Installing the replacement took about a minute. Lining up the screws was probably the trickiest part of the installation, but even this was easy. The replacement seems sturdy enough but time will tell. It was only installed yesterday so very early days. The hardest part of the process was finding the suitable replacement in the first place. Overall very happy with my purchase.

OK though fairly challenging to fit. IMPORTANT - letter-box screw fitting positions have changed several times in the 2 decades I have lived in my current bungalow. Finding a letter box with suitably placed screw positions requires considerable detective work as the relative information on Amazon is at best "sparse"
