My phone only gets around 80% charged charging together with the case over night. I emailed the seller and here is what they said. Which is more of a bandaid then trying to provide a solution.Dear Sandy,For overnight charging, we choose not to keep charging the phone once it's fully charged in order to protect your phone battery's life cycle. Having lithium battery keep charging at 100% level will significantly decrease battery's lifespan.Therefore your phone will continuously consume battery when it's is active working mode and resulting ~80% when you wake up in the morning. I haven't used one of these battery cases in a long time. But my s8 was a used phone and the battery capacity isn't as great as I wanted it to be...this case works very well. It has some quirks that I'm still figuring out. I saw other reviews about how it wasn't fully charged overnight and that's true for me too. But I understand why, in fact you shouldn't leave your phone charging overnight if you want your battery to maintain its capacity longer.What I do find confusing though is that I think it sometimes charges on its own.If you unplug it while its not 100% yet, it will switch to charging your phone from the case itself until its at 100%. so basically that's why I would sometimes unplug at 90% and head to work and by the time I got to work it was at 100% even though I didn't plug it into a car charger.one other thing I noticed today that is unfortunate is that it blocks the NFC. I guess any battery case is going to do that, there's no way around that...but if you use nfc for anything, you won't be able to anymore.Sadly i have to stop using this case because I want to use my s8 for reading my glucose sensor and it needs nfc to do that....so its rather unfortunate that I can't use this case anymore

This is a great product. The case holds the phone tightly, unlike some cases that I have tried. All of the cut-outs fit perfectly and allows the phone side buttons to protrude through the case which makes using them much easier than some other cases. The battery keeps my phone charged and has prolonged my battery life greatly. I was overnight charging my S8 each evening until I bought this product. Now I charge the phone every 3 or 4 days. The case is rather bulky and adds several ounces to the overall weight. However, the increased capacity makes it worth the additional heft.I access my cell between 35 and 40 times a day. If you are a heavier user than I am, you may not get the same longevity but I'm sure this item will increase your battery capacity enough to justify it's purchase price.

So this review is specifically for anyone looking for a battery case that support OTG USB Host. That's the ability to connect accessories such as flash drives, hard drives, DACs, keyboards, etc... via the USB C port.From the site Digital Trends: "USB OTG, or USB on-the-go, is a feature that allows your device to read data from USB devices, essentially becoming a “USB host”.OTG is mentioned in the description and is the term commonly used when describing the functionality I mentioned. This case supports data sync with a computer as many (though not all) of these case do and that's all.I purchased the case because of the mention of OTG and I'm pretty disappointed that it lack that functionality. Plus, it doesn't seem like any battery case supports this.Otherwise, the case has been great. Feels good in the hands. Feels sturdy and I've been able to get 2 charges from low teens back to 100, depending on use.

I was completely wrong about this product. It is the best thing I have ever done for my phone. I currently have two. I will charge one while using the other and never have to tether myself to a wall. I will leave my mistaken review up in Hope's it helps another find a defective product. Go to casessary on facebook and they will help you get it straight like they did me. Once I got a working product I was set and happy.Pay no attention to the below paragraphs unless you have had problems with a used product and want to troubleshoot.I'm here to warn you why you should NOT buy this case. I will explain in detail.Here goes.First day I got the case I was excited to put it on my phone and try it. But when I did I had a few surprises in store for me.I wanted to try this brand because of the claim of not only fast charging input but also fast charging of the phone. Which does not work how i imagined at all. And unless I have a defective I believe the details listed are misleading!!Okay I throw it on the phone. And hold down the button on the case until the LEDs flash a few times and come on, okay sweet I see my phone start to receive charge. And it's even a fast charge. Hey this looks like it's exactly what I needed!!.Then with no warning it just stopped charging. I scratched my head wondering if i did something wrong. Looked through the paperwork that came with the case. And it ended up not being helpful at all or having any kind of troubleshooting section.At this point I am getting concerned. I can see the LEDs on the case have a full charge and I can even be completely sure by plugging it in not attached to the phone. It will charge like that. In fact more on that later. Thinking I got a dead on arrival product. And that's when I got the idea to see if it may be my phones settings. I have a galaxy s8.I went into my settings first checking battery settings and setting my power saving from mid saving to no saving. I thought if they makes the case work I don't even mind running in performance mode. Since I will have extra juice.That did not fix it. I then when into battery settings and >advanced settings at the top. (The 3 dots)I toggled off allowing my device to receive a quick charge. And between something I did it started to work and now seems to work no matter the power saving mode or the quick charge on or off.Okay whatever I did gets it working. I use it to charge my phone for a few days and all is great. I run the case quite low so I can see how much it helps and then how it reacts when i try to charge itHere comes the scary part. Now I got this because I wanted quick charge of the case too which seems to be how they advertise it.I plug it into my wall outlet. A brand new Qualcomm 3.0 charger block and a new type c cable I had bought at the same time as this case. I go to bed for maybe 6 hours. And wake up to find not only a very low battery on my phone but a very weak charge on the case as well?I thought that is very strage!! Well at this point I know my only options to trouble shoot are to play with those device settings again. I try every combination of power saving and quick charge on and off. And that's where I am today. Still cant get the phone and case to charge properly.It's very sad. If I plug the case in it it shows the signal that my phone starts charging. Okay that's the passthrough right and it will charge my phone and then the case? Well problem with that it it only charges the phone at a very slow rate this way. So slow that your phone will tell you slow charging please use correct charger that came with your device!! In fact if u try to use your phone it will die slowly!And it doesnt charge the case fast either. It's pretty much useless.The only thing I can do to get it to work half way acceptably. Is to remove my phone from the case when it becomes drained. And charge the case with the quick charger. It will then quick charge the case very fast. Like in an hour. I just timed it right now actually.And u can remove the phone from the case without damaging your device as long as you are very careful to not tilt it far when popping it in and out.This is the only way I had luck with the product.Also do yourself a favor and just check out casecessarys website. Which you can find with a quick google search with the keyword caseessary.They had no technical support or way to contact them. Nor even a customer service line. And were even charging 80 dollars for this same model case on the website that I got from amazon for 40.In a stroke of desperation i even tried to message their facebook group to try to get some help. But it was all for nothing.So unless i got a defective product. This thing is very misleading. And there website just seems to be all about selling as many products without customer service to back it up.I may change my review if I get a message or reply through this when they see the review. Otherwise it's a one star from me and at this point I'm gonna continue to remove my phone everytime the case goes dead and charge it like that. And I'm going to swallow the cost and find me a better brand soon hopefully.I really hope that my product is just defective because it seems others have left good reviews.I will change my rating immediately if I did. Because the whole concept is great.
