VERY DETAILED REVIEW on the iVUE 1080 glasses
Nice improvement over older 720P version of iVUE glasses. The rubber ear piece covers keep coming off and I've lost one of them. Other than needing to glue those in place they are a little tighter on my wide head than the previous but the quality of video is much better and the audio more sensitive. No editing software needed since the glasses hold a memory card. I installed a 32GB card I got online for 18$ and now can fill it up on the road without needing to clear it with a laptop. Comes with a wall recharger and USB cable. IMovie imports the entire card with one click now which was not the case with the old 720 HD glasses which required each AVI file to be imported one at a time to prevent sync issues. This MOV apple format is much better and they can be edited or just uploaded right from the glasses through a PC to youtube. They come with clear and smoked lenses and not the yellow shooter lenses the others did. The lenses from the old iVUE glasses are the same fit so I just used a spare set in these glasses. The lens sticks forward a little farther than the previous model but they seem better made and more sturdy frame. You should use rubber cement like "Goop" to glue the rubber ear sleeves the moment you get them. The biggest improvements include audio beeper that clearly lets you know the glasses are being powered up and beginning to record with repeat beeps. One solid beep when you shut them off and they stop recording or they run out of power and die. I get about 1 hour out of the batteries but that's with the quality set to 720HD mode instead of 1080. You really get a better video quality in 720 mode compared to the previous 720 glasses. So the lens itself (sensor) is much improved. Even the 300$ pivot head glasses fail my tests because they are not wide angle. The iVUE glasses catch a wide view left to right and up and down so shooting and other high speed sports have a much more realistic "you are there" view. Otherwise you feel like your getting sick watching through a bottleneck. This is a main feature. You don't get an unacceptable amount of warping or fish eye from the lens either. It's very fun to watch. My youtube channel /GeorgiaShooter is packed with videos from both the older 720 glasses and these new 720/1080 glasses. You also edit a small test file on the glasses which includes all kinds of options, audio and video settings. Just remember to enable the one option that makes the glasses suck up the new settings next time they power on. Once they power on an take your new settings the file is automatically set back to default contents. This is far improved from the cheesy way the old glasses work with it's settings file.Teton Webstores is the place that actually sells these and their support is decent and they have replaced my older glasses two times after the initial warranty. So I like the support and they are USA based with Email response same or next day. I changed from four to five stars because even having to glue the ear pieces these are about the best glasses for the money you'll find.

once you figure out how you need to wear them to get angle you like. They don't move
I have a larger melon... XL flex fit caps fit tight. These glasses fit tight, but are not uncomfortable. The plus to that though is, once you figure out how you need to wear them to get angle you like. They don't move. The video is nice and clear. The one button on/off takes a second to register, so no worry about accidently turning it on/off. The audio in the videos, for what I need it for is fine. Anyone talking on the side oppisite of the mic though is muffled. (person in the vid I'll link after is about 2-3 feet behind me so I wasn't expecting to pick them up). They lenses these come with are top notch, with great color seperation and clarity (usally wear oakly's for outdoor matches)Overall a great product for what I am using them for.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTnQ8O7Bhd4

Wish I could have used them on my 28 hour fishing trip
I received these as a gift as something I could use on my fishing trips. I tested them while recording a 30 second clip the night before we went out on our 28 hour deep sea fishing trip and everything seemed to work well. I put them back onto the charger to make sure I had a full battery for the trip. When I pulled them out to use them, I pressed the record button, it made one loud beep and the little light on the inside turned green. after about 20 seconds the glasses started beeping a bunch of short consecutive beeps. when I pushed the side button the classes would not respond, the light on the glasses was green but would not shut off. I thought I may have forgotten to stop my recording from when I tested the night before so I swaped out the memory chip with a 12 gb spare chip I had with nothing on it. The glasses still would not respond to the record button and the light stayed light green. Thinking maybe it somehow needed to get another charge I hooked it up to an outlet on the boat, the light on the glasses turned from a green to an orange color. About an hour later the light on the classes turned green again. I tried to use again and they would not respond to the record button, made no noises when the button was pushed and light stayed green. I tried one last spare 8gb chip I had with me, no luck same thing. The glasses look Great, fit GREAT. Maybe I just got a defective pair. I would like to have another pair sent to me and send my defective pair back. and re-rate these. As I had said these glass fit and look great. They were given to me as a Christmas gift and this was the first time I went to use them.

... couple of times but the picture on these are better than those from my 500
The media could not be loaded. I have only used these a couple of times but the picture on these are better than those from my 500.00 camera. They are not at all cheaply made that I think I read in a review. They are a little snug on my head so if you have a big head you may want to consider something else. But for the average head the snugness will at least keep them on your head so you can keep the hands free.I watched the video on the Amazon site and figured being an advertisement of course it's going to look real good so I was really surprised to find that mine looks just as good.Again they are snug but not painful. And for me I don't plan on wearing them on an everyday basis so no biggie. Keep in mind they're used like a camcorder. So you really only wear them for according.I'm not to sure about the sound on them sense I only had my dog with me when I used them and he's not talking. If I can figure out how to upload a video on this I will update it to provide sound and the great video quality. I am going to a party on the 11th so I'll have voice quality and a better idea as to how to use them.I decided I better not use a video from the party because I don't want to be posting videos of people online who may not wish to have their faces or voices on here.Oh and as for the seller. I am truly impressed. I had sent an email asking if they could be sure it got here by the 11th of April and they sent it out right away and I got it soon enough to test it out. Thanks Teton webstores
