Good dehydrator if not a "pro grade" one
I bought this dehydrator because it was cheap and would fit on my counter. So far it has been less cheap and far more of a good value. I have made jerky, drued spicy mango, dried my own herb mixes and made blackberry powder without issue. Dried apples with cinnamon are amazing. If your kitchen does not have GFCI outlets you should get them changed out. Most of the bad reviews (especially the fires that happened after the appliance "made a noise") are avoidable.I got some silicone mesh mats and cut them to size for drying small items and they work great.I do recommend this as a good first dehydrator. Just remember it takes time to dry fruits, vegetables and meat as well as proper prepping of the items to be dried. This is not a fast process but in 4-6 hrs you can have 4-5 apples dried out if they are 1/4" or thinner slices.

Good tool to preserve fruit and vegetables
Good machine, especially for gardener. Problem is all the fruit from persimmon and other trees ripen at same time. Drying them is good, but outdoor in the sun just not possible.I dried apples, persimmons and some other fruit and easy and efficient. The instructions were simple in using the machine on settings to use, etc.Not very noisy, just like having an air filter running. The trays are very easy to clean, especially using high sugar content fruit. Not messy at all. The air flow is even from top tray to the bottom and front to back. All the fruit dries as same tempo, not a lot of rotation needed like some of those plastic round dryers.Example on the persimmons was just slice a 3/8 to 1/2 thick, dry and then packed them like a tube and into the freezer. Been using the fruit in bread or just snack.

Maybe not a typical use....
I do a fair bit of 3D FDM printing. The plastic filament used "prints" very well when it is dry, but if it sits around for a while and picks up moisture, it can be impossible to get a good print. A bunch of companies make 3D filament dryers. In my experience, they are cheaply constructed. They don't go a good job of keeping the air moving around the filament so drying can be uneven if you don't keep going back and rotating the spools. When the last one I purchased failed after 2 days, I returned it to Amazon and decided that I was done with 3D Filament Dryers. I found this 10 tray food dehydrator. It had excellent reviews. And the price was good for me. So I ordered it. I can put three 1 kilogram spools into this dryer. It has an active fan that really circulates the air inside the cabinet. And I've been pleased with how accurate the temperature control is. Like I said in the headline, maybe my use is not a typical use for this piece of equipment. But I've been very happy with it. And given that it does such a great job on these pieces of plastic I'm trying to dry out, I have to think that it would also be great at doing it's intended job of dehydrating food. My only complaint about it - and I never thought I'd hear myself say this - is that I can't set it to display in Centigrade. All the filaments out there typically give you their preferred drying temperature in Celsius. And this unit is Farenheit only. LOL. It's not a big deal for me. I simply made myself a little conversion chart and that works great for me! So that's not really something I should complain about. I just love this machine. A word of caution though if you do want to use this for drying 3D printer filament. It operates between 90 and 165 degrees F (32 to 74 degrees C). So some of the engineering materials like TPU, PC, PPS, etc., may have to be dried longer at a lower temperature or maybe you'll have to use a different system for them. I rarely print in those materials. And typically when I do, I'll burn up a whole spool within a few days so they really don't sit around and pick up moisture. But just be aware of that "limitation." But I can say with full conviction that this is an excellent addition to my 3D printing efforts. I highly recommend it.

Good size, I love Metal shelves
Not sure yet how good this will be. Instruction book and recipe book need more detailed information. I cleaned and ran for 30 mins as per Instructions.Using for the first time for jerky. Recipes do not say what setting you should use. Raw or Fast. When you try to set a specific time for Fast the dehydrator will only run 10 hours. 24 for hours for raw.No alarm. So you must set on Fast 10 or Raw 24 hours then keep checking the food.I would have like something with more options but many dehydrator do not have metal shelves. This one does.It is fairly quiet. You do hear the fan. The recipes look good. Size is nice for countertop and storage, not heavy. 7 metal shelves plus trays for special ingredients.I have used the dehydrator once for chicken dog treats. It took about 4 hours on Fast setting. It worked well. I think the biggest problem with this product is lack of detail in instructions on how yhe settings are to be used and no setting information in tbe recipes. Otherwise, I think we will use the dehydrator often..

It dehydrates.
It does what it's supposed to do pretty well. It's a small unit, but that's all I needed. It doesn't take up much space. Would've liked a few more plastic trays, but oh well. The instructions do involve some cleaning and a short run before your first-use, so be aware of that.I use it to dehydrate tomatoes and onions. It's easy to use and looks pretty good in the kitchen.
