🦄 great purple shampoo for gray hair.
A very nice purple shampoo! I purchased this mainly because I like the blog of the lady who created it and that it is not tested on animals and mostly chemical free. I leave it on for 3 mins and it always leave my hair soft and brightens up my gray hair. The scent is nice it reminds me of the scent of unscented products but better. It’s a very mild floral scent which I like! I was worried it would smell like shimmer lights which literally smells like yeast infection medicine, you’re welcome now you’ll never un smell it 😆 Anyway, I use BTW purple shampoo once a week. If it leaves a purple tint I can’t tell on my hair all I know is it looks better after I use it. I want the conditioner too but my hair is so short and natural it leaves it soft enough. It comes in a huge bottle, so it’s worth the money. It can stain things, so rinse off the shower immediately.

Hair looks and feels great!
The shampoo is very purple, and was kind of a shock, but felt wonderful when lathering up! Hair smells great and is very shiny and healthy looking.

Works well but a long time to leave I'm hair.
I like the scent and the lather. To leave it in for 5 minutes is a long time but the hair does look nice after using it.

Pretty happy with this shampoo!!
I've read review after review on several other purple shampoo products, but when I arrived at BTW, I knew this was it. The Leaping Bunny is very important to me, so that was a big thumbs up. I've used this shampoo twice now and the change has been noticeable. I have salt and pepper with a few good sprays of silver on the sides and top front, and my short comment is simply that I'm very pleased with the outcome. The fragrance is not horrible as some other posters have noted. In my opinion it's neither good nor bad. It's just there, and it's not a smell that stays with you either. As far as drying, no problem so far, but use a moisturizing conditioner if it's a problem. I use 4 ounce clear, soft plastic bottles with flip open and close nozzle tops in the shower for my shampoo and conditioner, and have added a third bottle with this shampoo. It's easier than dealing with full size bottles especially when I get to the end of the bottle. I've recommended this shampoo to my au naturale silver locks friends without hesitation. Three notables on the bottle that don't have anything to do with how this shampoo works, I still just love that; 1.) the Leaping Bunny is large enough to easily spot 2.) there is a graphic of a woman with silver hair sitting crossed legged that states "the silver sisterhood...embrace your natural hair" and 3.) the use by date is a good 1/2" size on the side of the bottle so you can't miss it. I just bought my bottle the end of May 2021 and it is best by 10-01-2022, so this 16 ounce bottle will last a good while with once a week use, if even that. I'm sold on this brand!

Not what I thought it would be.
More hype. Cheaper shampoo works better. At first I thought it was average but as I used it my hair became so dry and frizzy. I only shampoo every 3 maybe 2 days and this shouldn’t happen. I happened to have a hydrating shampoo and tried it today, what a difference. My natural salt and pepper color came back. Smooth and shiny. Don’t waste your money on this. I’ve tried cheaper purple shampoo that worked better even without a conditioner. Probably use it maybe once a week to alternate my shampoo because I’d hate to waste it since I only used like two inches worth and I can’t return it. I’ll end up buying a new shampoo. Update: didn’t want to throw it out so tried it again, made my hair purple. So upset I spent that much money on it.

Gray with Yellow Tones
I am gray with dark gray in the rear of my head. It is the front of my hair that concerns me the most. It was once silver and yet over time, it turned yellow. I have tried as many purple shampoos than I can count and none of them have touched the yellow except for one shampoo and I can't get it anymore. But this one was different, it had a pleasant smell; it wasn't harsh, and only a small portion of my porous hair took up the purple color. I've only tried it once, so I'm going to try it for a month to see what happens. The one thing that I love about this shampoo is that my hair was left soft and manageable after just the shampoo and the purple condition only enhanced it. So, here goes my experiment with this one.

Did not tone out brass well
I wanted to like this shampoo so bad because it is a purple shampoo for blonde-toning and it's natural. I used it probably 5 or 6 times and it definitely was not strong enough to tone out the brass in my bleached blonde hair. I would leave it on for at least 5 minutes every time, but it just didn't cut it. Biolage purple shampoo works way better.
