Perhaps that is why the fluted doorknob design was so popular from the late 1800s to the early 1940s and keeps making a comeback. This particular 2 inch (50 mm) diameter fluted crystal clear doorknob has been matched with a simple 2 1/2 inch (63 mm) diameter Victorian rosette for a stylish design. There are two rosettes that screw into each other after placing them on opposite sides of the door. This doorknob set comes with a standard 2 3/8 inch back set. A 2 3/4 inch back set is sold separately.

impossible to work
What a beautiful glass knob! But..... what an awful design. Absolutely impossible to install. I have installed many door knobs so it's not me! I had a contractor at my house doing other work and asked him to look at it and tell me what I was doing wrong. He couldn't get it to work properly. So, back in the package and returned. Very disappointed as this was exactly what I was looking for and could not find any at the big box store. The instructions are useless as well as the online instructions.

Regency fluted glass door knob
The door knob is beautiful. Assembly is easier then others have stated. My only issue was I needed to dill a larger hole(1 inch) for the lever device to fit. It did not fit in prefab doors in house. It looks great and is a solid piece.
