Strong enough for big, energetic puppy
Excellent quality. Strong enough to handle my 45-pound energetic puppy. Soft in my hands. Soft on the puppy who gets tangled in the leash. No burns on her skin like a nylon leash would leave.

High quality, comfortable no-frills leash
[UPDATE April 30, 2024: We left our leash in a hotel room and bought another. The quality is the same.][UPDATE January 18, 2023: Four and a half years later, we're still using this leash multiple times a day in all weather, and it's never let us down.]We have the 5-foot leash in black leather for use with our 11-pound Pomeranian. The leash is nice quality genuine leather and very soft upon arrival. There's a slight smell of leather wax, but nothing comes off on your hands. The leash is strong and flexible, and there's no problem with the clasp. I recommend this as an excellent value for those looking for an attractive, strong leash with no frills, for supervised use (that is, for walking, not for leaving unattended).

Good, strong, leather lead for a small dog (chihuahua, about 25 pounds, BIG chihuahua!).
We started using leashes like this for my bulldog and boxer, and my mom needed a new leash for her chihuahua - who wants to lead her all over. Mom is 80... Chihuahua is a LARGE chihuahua, strong, a rescue - so, opinionated and has a personality... ;-)This leash is the first step to get the puppy behaving herself (she's about 2 years old.) The leather leash is heavier, granting more control when you have to control the dog, and makes the dog aware of the leash. Lighter leashes may not have the same control.Since the pup doesn't like leashes, and likes to chew, leather is a good selection, as she can gnaw through the nylon offerings fairly quickly. Leather is a bit more work... But always keep an eye on the dog!

Almost perfect, but came apart after 6 months
Great leash in terms of look and feel, but unfortunately the loop stitching came undone after 6 months and it could no longer be used. It is a great light weight, thin, soft leash option but I wish it lasted longer.

Nice leash-good price!
I recently adopted a 15 pound Papillon mix and wanted a leash that is easy on the hands. This leash is soft, strong and well made for the price. I wish it had a ring on the handle to clip stuff to but that's a small request. Good product!

The quality is not so good.
Is there any warranty for this leash? I bought it last November, but it's broken after three months of using it occasionally, no more than ten times total with less than 35 pound dog.

Gorgeous & buttery soft + 2 year update!
I use this leash for a Boston Terrier puppy.. For the price, I was expecting a much harder leather. Was pleasantly surprised by how soft and pliable this leash was. Worked it with a simple leather conditioner and it feels like a perfectly broken-in leash and I've only been using it a week. It is incredibly basic with simple stitching and utilitarian hardware -- it could be too heavy for a very, very small dog (~5lb). But it is perfect for training with my growing small breed (~20lb when grown).Have been using this leash almost daily for the last two years and it’s only gotten better with time!

GREAT!
Such a great leash! I originally got a 6ft one but am ordering a 4ft one now because I need a shorter leash for my dog.I have purchased so many leashes and given some by friends and I always come back to my original leash. Great price! I’ve paid for a “genuine leather” leash at Healthy Spot for $65 and it started tearing. This one is amazing.
