MultiWare Folding Camping Bed Ourdoor Travel Camp Aluminium Steel Legs

After a few years using inflatable beds I wanted a change for this years Silverstone weekend. The reviews were generally very positive with the only issue being getting the final peg into place. The bed simply unfolds easily once out of its carry bag and you simply insert the 2 end poles of the bed into the canvas ‘sleeves’. Obviously putting the first pole into the end of the bed is easy. As some reviews suggested getting the second one in much less so. Straight out of the box the canvas is very stiff and I needed a couple of strong flat headed screwdrivers to prize the second end pole into place and only then after a fair bit of effort. Reviews suggested doing this a few times before you need it and they are absolutely right - doing it just before you wanted to use it might cause problems. Once I’d got mine up I left it in my garage for a week to stretch the canvas and I’ll put it up and down a couple of times more before I need to use it. I did lie on it and it seems comfortable although I have a self inflating mat to go on top too. I’m 5ft 10 ins and 14 stones & it’s long enough and strong enough for me although I haven’t yet spent a night on it. Recommended.

I am surprised that this product is certified for sale in the UK because the design is so bad, like the kind of thing you bought in the 1970s and liable to cause serious injury. There are two horizontal bars you have to put in place by levering them so that two round holes cut into the aluminium align with two rubber plugs which stick out. However in order to do this you need a lot of strength, and as the height of the plugs is 1cm there is a gap where skin folds from your hands can be as the plug finally snaps into place, trapping or cutting your skin. Frankly this design should not be allowed.

This was very good value indeed. It is very easy to assemble - a matter of minutes - and just as easy to put away. I actually bought it as an extra bed to use at home for myself on the occasions when I have a full house and wanted something that could be stored easily so wasn't expecting much. However,it is well made and comfortable (with the addition of a thin mattress). An added bonus is that it takes up very little space when put away in its case and easily fits in a cupboard.

I'm 16 stone and 6'2'' and its fine with me. Very good for the price. Apparently its a bit stiff but I had no worries putting it together.

Thank goodness I first tried to assemble at home. Would never have done it on a trip without any tools. Really difficult to stretch material sufficiently to lock in horizontal bars. Hoping it will be easier as the fabric stretches with use. Quality overall: great.

This is a fantastic product at a great price. It’s so sturdy and the canvas is great quality. We were surprised how high it was- I remember camping beds being only just off the floor! It’s ideal for a guest and certainly much better than the air beds we’ve had which always seem to leak. We had heeded the comments about the difficulty of getting the last corner in place so were prepared. It took an instant to set up then we tried stretching the canvas. Then my husband hit on the idea of doing the same as a cross bow archer. Lie back with your foot against the last corner and press, holding on to the side bar. Simple! . It’s really strong and comfortable. It creaks a bit so next time we put it up we may put some WD40 in the joints.

Very comfortable and solid. I am sleeping on it every night on my terrace under the stars. I recommend it also for the unbeatable price as a guest bed, if you have an unexpected guest. .I have put a thin mattress on it (8 cm) and I use it as a base. Besides it is conveniently foldable away and store it in its sack.

Great product. Well made and very comfortable.I saw on another review here to put the bed up a few days before you take it camping to loosen the material. I would recommend this. It will make your life much easier when you come to use it.Bought for a festival and got great nights sleep out of every use!
