Too much dust
The picture shows some decent sized chunks of rock and under Features it says 5Lb. I expected the rocks to be (at least) pea gravel size but most were smaller than that. Even worse, about 25% of the package was just pure dust. Even if they were all smaller in size than I expected it would have been OK but I purchased and expected to get Lava "Rock" not Lava "Dust". Additionally, I am not sure if I actually got 5 pounds of rocks (I did not weigh them), now I notice at the bottom of the page it says shipping weight 3.7 lbs. So which is it 5 pounds or 3.7 pounds? Not really impressed with anything about this purchase. I expected to get 5 pounds of Lava Rock, I think I only ended up with about 2.5 pounds of actual rock.

Dusty and small, but looks good!
Dusty when placing the rock around the edges. Wish the rocks were a bit bigger. Yet, overall, the product accomplished it attended task of looking cool around the fireplace. I will say, there was a lot extra rock once I was done, so I will be able to replace that later.

Turtle Approves
I purchased these knowing that they are small lava rocks. I needed smaller lava rocks to replace the old ones in my electric smoker. These where a perfect fit and just the right amount for me. Note in the picture the black lava rock was the average size and the majority of the color in the bag. The red lava rock was the biggest one I found in the bag. The bag was mostly black but there were a few red, brown and a couple white.

too small
I should have read the reviews before purchasing. I wanted black rock so I went with this product that was clear about the color (and it is black) but I needed something of decent size. I was expecting BBQ rock size but this stuff is tiny - I think that the largest is thumbnail size. I wanted to put it in a outdoor gas firepit but this stuff will just clog up the gas holes in my burner. I was thinking about mixing it with some dirt for a planter.

Product not as pictured
I wanted to duplicate the lava rocks used by my installer 9 years ago. They varied in size from about 1/4" to 1" and looked very real. The picture of Meeco's product appeared to show similar size variations and, possibly, a similar size. Since reviewers were all over the map in depicting the size of what they received, I relied on the picture. Unfortunately, the delivered rock is uniform and very small, about 1/4" and less.Online shoppers rely heavily on vendor photos. Sellers need to deliver exactly what they show!BTW, size related issues like this could be diminished if sellers would place an object in the photo for scale. In this case, showing a US quarter along side the product would help immensely.

Pretty good product
Pretty good product, I just wish you could buy it in a smaller amount. I used this on a standard gas fireplace and really only needed less than a quarter of the amount in the package. No problems with the product though.

I added these to the bottom of my gas fireplace to hide the gas line and also to make it look like ash. Then the fireplace is lit it makes the fireplace look more realistic.
