It puts eyelets in, but...
There's no doubt it can put eyelets in, but it's quite hard to use and the outcome might not be what you're after.Pros:- The tool seems like it'd be sufficiently durable. I don't think it'd last in a professional setting with constant use, but it's fine for home stuff.- It makes eyelets.Cons:- The handles of the tool are very slippery, so as you punch a hole or fit an eyelet, your hands slide down the handles, reducing your leverage. I've never had something work like this.- It comes with instructions, the useful part is minuscule, everything else is large.- There is a definite orientation when you put the eyelets in - I tried to follow the instructions and the first eyelet I did got stuck in the tool and I had to lever it out with a pry tool.- The eyelets themselves are single piece, rather than two-piece like I've used before. That means the 'far' side of the eyelet has the metal stretched and fracturing slightly. This leaves a rough texture that will have fabric or cord catching on it and fraying.- I'm not sure what you do if/when you run out of eyelets. There are no re-order instructions and it doesn't mention size. It isn't clear / obvious if this would work with a two-piece eyelet, but I don't think it would, ergo the whole unit feels like you might need to dispose of it after your 100 eyelets are up - that or you order random eyelets until you find some that fit - and hope they work in the punch once you find ones that fit.- I did screw up a couple of eyelets from imprecise placement - user error - but I did think I had it centred, so it isn't very forgiving if you don't get it spot on.I wouldn't get this again - there are plenty of two-piece eyelet kits that I'm sure would give a superior result & would be easier to use....but it does work.

Well made Punch Pliers!
This is perfect to add to my leather working toolkit. After unboxing these leather eyelet punch pliers I immediately tested them out with the a few enclosed eyelets which came in the box, on an old test piece of leather. It worked as I expected with clean looking holes.Recommended at the value and build quality of the pliers themselves is great, however I will be happy to update my review after using them for a vit of time. At this point though I am impressed.
