This is a really solid barrel dolly. I'm using it as a dolly to wheel a Solo Yukon fire pit around as the Yukon is fairly heavy and awkward to carry - Particularly if it's hot!. It works great for this purpose! I would have rated this 5 starts, but as I was assembling, I discovered that the bolts supplied for the casters were just a bit too long and, as a result, would not let the casters swivel. I added a couple of washers to each bolt and that did the trick. Fortunately, I happened to have the 32 washers necessary. Hopefully the seller will correct this with the manufacturer.

This unit is built very strong. Good workmanship and materials. But(t), the designer needs needs to check his measurements again. The bolts holding the wheels on, are too long. The ones supplied measure 16mm, and when the locknut is tightened down, holding the assembly together, there is about 3.5-4mm sticking out above the top of the locknut. THAT, is enough so it interferes with the wheel assembly, not allowing it to turn as designed. VERY limiting turning! If you try and put the bolts in from the bottom, you had best have a deep dish steel drum rather than a blue plastic 55 gal water barrel! If it is plastic, those bolt ends will puncture it when the barrel is filled and there is now close to 500 lbs sitting on them! If not, I guarantee it WILL wear through in short order. I just ordered some 12mm replacement bolts, which work fine, but we should not have to buy anything that didn't come with it!THAT is just poor design, or "cheap" creeping in by using the wrong bolts that cost less?

Built HD, I like that. The thing is easy to bolt up but the bolts and bolt ends are going to poke the bottom of your barrel. A 400lb barrel (avg) would over time put some damage that may end up being holes in the bottom of your drum, not good. I am using this one for a drum smoker. I am going to have to address this. If you flip the bolt over the nut will block the wheels travel, we tried that. In the end, I guess I will have to place OSB or plywood to keep the drum from sitting on the bolts.

As others have said, there is a design flaw, so I can't give the product five stars. The bolts are still too long so must be fastened facing up and that creates a problem if you are using this for plastic barrels. However, the fix was easy with a piece of 3/8 inch plywood to sit in the bottom and then I simply cut out the section where the nuts were that hold the wheels on. I knew this was an issue when I bought the product but felt like that since the next closest dolly that would work was twice the price, I needed two, that I could make the adjustment and save myself $79. I don't know why the company doesn't read these reviews and change the design to allow for plastic barrels to work without having to use plywood.

I bought this to add maneuverability to my new Smokin’ Ugly drum smoker. I would have liked two locking casters instead of all 4 freewheeling. It is very well made. The only thing I didn’t like was assembling 4 of the 8 nuts that hold the casters on. 4 are inside the support triangles, and it is difficult to get the nut started on on in the restricted space. It is doable, but took some patience and finagling.

It looks like they got the bolt length figured out - no issues there with the steel drum. I was concerned that with the low price I would get poor quality caster wheels that would barely handle the load. That wasn’t the case. The unit is solid, well made and the wheels are good quality that roll effortlessly across my concrete hangar floor. I recommend this dolly.
