Works great made my dad's job alot easier

Ok, so the finish on this is probably the worst on a tool I have had. Just gonna throw that out there. I don't understand... This is supposed to be aluminum, so why do we need to coat it? It is like the coating had a bunch of impurities in it and so on dipping it, it made a bunch of raised and sharp areas. I'd have prefered it was just left uncoated. Also, please kmow this tool is not a precision tool. It is for framing and for house or shed framing it's very good. My measurements show that there is a hair over a 16th of an inch additional width on each side the 2x4 would fit into. Which is understandable, as 2x4s are never perfectly straight or hewn. Just know, that it isn't perfect.Now, other than the fin8sh and some sharp edges, this tool is great. It is built like a tank and the angles are true. It is lightweight enough and has a nice handle. It is very easy to use and if you have two of them it makes framing walls a snap.Only other thought I have is that I'd have liked it to have holes drilled in it. That would help for hanging it and for being able to temp screw or nail it on occaision. Solid though. 3.5 stars.

I went to use this tool and it was very difficult to get it to fit over the standard 2x4 studs from HD. It was even more difficult to remove the tool from the tight fit. I had to knock it off the studs with a rubber mallet. I would not recommend this tool. I found it saved me no time and was more work than just using a tape measure.

Well made. Do the job. Helpful for beginners
