Had an office chair with casters on a wooden floor, which made it a hazard when sitting down onto it. Similarly when getting up off the chair it would slide back quite quickly and was bordering on the dangerous. Saw these on Amazon and they arrived next day through the Prime service. The gliders were so easy to fit with the job being done in five minutes. They appear substantial and I now have a safe chair. So far so good and I'd say they're worth giving a try.

Like many people, I am now working at home and have now got an office chair. I bought new wheels for it with allegedly soft TP rubber, to prevent damage to my hardwood floor, but the TP rubber was very hard and the wheels dented the floor.These gliders are the answer. They have a nice broad base and when fitted with stick on felt pads, they will do no damage. All our other furniture legs have these pads fitted, so I know this is a safe solution.The chair sits firmly in place and is easy to move when you get up and sit down.The surface of the gliders is smooth, so it would also work perfectly on carpet.

A doddle to install. Just levered out the old rollers and stuffed these in.Chair moves smoothly over laminate now and when you sit down it's sufficiently firm that you don't slide around without putting some effort into it (better to raise yourself up before re-adjusting position in my opinion).Also, as there's no felt padding you don't end up with a dust-bunny under each pad !

These flat replacement feet instead of castor wheels on the swivel chair in our home office should help protect the carpet. The bottom of the feet is just flat smooth plastic, so they should spread the load and do much less damage to the carpet and underlay than the castor wheels. The chair will still slide on the carpet without too much effort. The feet have 11mm shafts (the same as most castor wheels), they're very easy to fit (use a large flat blade screwdriver to carefully lever off the old castor wheels and just push the feet into place), and delivery was very quick.

Put these on my chair to replace the caster wheels on a hard floor and it’s the beat upgrade for your chair on any hard surface as it stops the unwanted movement but to avoid damaging my floor I light the chair up to move it but on a light chair that’s not a problem.
