Excellent initial fragrance; can be a used as a wood oil or to deter moths
Cedarwood objects have long been used to deter moths but the wood dries out quite quickly in modern centrally-heated homes. For several years, pure cedar oil was used but the bottles were capped by a small plug which can be difficult to remove as well as a large screw-down one. Attempting to add a few drops of oil to a large cedar ball or stick (not possible to dip as the bottle necks are very narrow) often resulted in a proportion of the contents dripping onto a floor or clothing, causing a permanent stain. Rather than 10ml lasting a whole summer, it was often only a few weeks. These bottles use an eye-dropper making dispensing the required amount and getting it into the right spot is made so much easier and wastage is reduced to a minimum, unless over-applied. The oil is quickly absorbed and treatment, whether as a wood conditioner or moth repellent, needs only be repeated at 7-10 day intervals, sooner if the room is hot and the fragrance disappears more quickly. This brand uses a mixture of cedar, lavender and patchouli oils to achieve the same end as those using only cedar. The specific odour of cedar, which one family member finds distasteful, is initially heavily masked by the lavender and the much stronger patchouli; its overall fragrance is therefore then more floral than woody. Over a short period of time, the cedar comes to the fore. For one season, an electronic method of deterrent that was claimed to be fully effective was used. It was effective only in deterring moths from the immediate vicinity of the device but not beyond a radius of about 60-80 cm where they were as plentiful as in previous years. Similar electronic systems to deter cats, dogs and foxes from a garden where considerable damage was done over two previous years (mostly but not solely by foxes) were equally ineffective. While 100% effectiveness can never be guaranteed, this oil mixture appears to work about as well as pure cedar oil in deterring moths from clothes, curtains and drapes, and especially woollen rugs and carpets.

Great
It is a great product, unfortunately, I don't really understand if it does the job or not. However, I live the smell.

Scented clothes moth repellent oil
I bought this oil to add extra cedar oomph smell to some cedar rings that I have put in wardrobes to hopefully evict troublesome invisible clothes moths. Do not know if it has worked yet. Lovely smell for humans to enjoy.

Good and subtle scent
Subtle. You can’t put on clothes, but I did on wooden pieces

Lovely smell but not sure if it really does anything?
The smell of the oil is divine - almost like a perfume you would wear. I apply it regularly to cedar balls I keep in all my wardrobes and drawers as we have been having a real issue with moths. I am not sure the oil is that much of a deterrent but it makes my wardrobes smell gorgeous. I would recommend using traps as weel if, like us, you have an infestation. This oil will not suffice by itself but it may well prevent the problem in the first place.
