Love using this butterbell! It has changed our life. My husband was very skeptical about another gimmicky product I was gonna buy. But he has been converted! The butter is always fresh and it is easy to clean. When we need to reload, we buy a new block of butter from the shop and leave it on the counter for the day and then put it into the bell with a spoon pressing the butter against the wall a bit at a time until there is no more butter I can stuff into it. It works well. Would recommend if you use butter on a daily basis.

A bit expensive but beautiful blue, strong, quality crafted butter dish. Water trick inside does keep butter soft and fresh. Despite the high price, it's worth it!

Love it, dos what it says and looks great. The main thing so far is remembering to change the water. I bought it in the winter so let's see how it fares in the summer. However I would encourage you to buy and the price is good. I have not found a butter dish that satisfied my requirements this one so far does.

Myself and my hubby always disagreed about butter - I love butter but find when its cold its too difficult to spread so end up using margarine. He likes butter too but cuts off chunks onto his bread because its solid - not good for the cholesterol!I found this butter crock and it has changed the way we both use butter forever!It holds most of a 250g packet of butter and I find softening it slightly before packing it in makes it easier. Once its filled you just put a bit of water in the bottom and store out on the kitchen counter. I change the water every couple of days and it stays pretty fresh!Think its more of an American thing although i've introduced it to my friends and family who have bought it and say its amazing!

Everything you could ever possibly want from a butter bell! There is not a lot that can go wrong here. It serves its purpose well.

This is my first butter bell. My kitchen's blue, so is this butter bell. So looks great in the kitchen. Keeps butter fresh and spreadable.

1st off I really love the cobalt blue. Matches my kitchen beautifully. It really works. I keep my butter on the counter in the plastic container, and after time it starts to get green on top. And then I have to toss it out. But not with this - it stays soft and fresh. It's been a month very glad I bought this

I'm going to start this review with, "I'm not using this the way you're supposed to."I really like this crock. It keeps the butter covered while out on the counter, and it's heavier and sturdier than every butter dish I've tried. I have three dogs, and dog hair flying around the house is pretty much a guarantee. This crock is keeping out all the dog hair. Some butter dishes I've tried don't seal all the way, or they're uneven, so there are little air holes here and there.I use this crock upside down. I have a piece of buttered toast pretty much every day, sometimes twice a day. So I'm in this crock on a daily basis. Changing the water wouldn't have been a big deal, but it's pretty cold outside here right now, and I keep my house pretty cool in the winter and hot in the summer. Right now, the butter is hard, whether or not I use the water part of this crock. In the summer, my butter melts on the counter, so storing it upside down would likely result in a mess for me. Most people keep their homes in what's considered a normal temperature range, so I suspect this would work perfectly for most people.I'm giving this four stars only because the description states it keeps your butter nice and spreadable, and that's simply not true in all cases (I was skeptical when I bought this, but it cost half as much as the ceramic butter dish I was considering). So if you're someone who keeps your house around 60 in the colder months, this crock will not keep your butter spreadable. But it will keep your butter just as fresh as a butter dish, and it does look fantastic on the counter (takes up less horizontal space, too!). Thanks to the width of the base of the part that holds the butter, the whole thing seems fairly sturdy upside down. I'm clumsy, especially in the kitchen in the morning, and I have yet to knock over this crock.

I prefer warm bread and butter that melts! The fact this item is gorgeous is yet another plus. Stop mutilating your toast, bisquits, muffins whatever! Buy it.
