My oldest daughter decided she wanted to try a Beginners dance class to help build her musical theatre skills. When she was younger and in dance, the elastics were pre-sewn into her ballet slippers, so when the  Sansha Pro 1 Canvas Ballet Slipper,Light Pink,10 M (8 M US Women's/6 M US Men's)  arrived with loose elastics, I was at a loss. Sewing is not one of my strong suits, so I was trilled when I managed to come across these No-Sew Pointe Snaps! You get a little bag with 12 pairs of snaps, enough to do 3 pairs of shoes. Using four (two per shoe) we easily secured my daughter's elastics at the right place in less than five minutes. You just press the little teeth carefully through the fabric and elastic, fit the snap in, and press it together with a pair of pliers. You want to have the elastics at the spot where your foot arches, so I had my daughter try them on, and safety-pinned them first to make sure we got them in the right spot. We read somewhere that you're supposed to do the the elastic from the inside of the foot underneath and the one that comes from the outside, over, so that's what we did. We were happy these Pointe Snaps matched her Sansa slippers perfectly, too, and saved me the time/effort of attempting to sew -- plus this is so much more secure! My daughter said she doesn't even notice them. Great product!

I read all the reviews before I purchased and was so excited about getting this. It worked perfectly fine for the ribbons, relatively easy. But the elastic? No way. The prongs aren't long enough to get through the fabric of the shoe and then the elastic. And getting the prongs through the shoe was a bit of a challenge. I tried for over an hour to get the spikes of he prongs through that elastic. Not happening. Ribbons works great....elastic not so much.

Wow! These made a big difference when I attached my daughter's elastic and ribbons to her pointe shoes! It was so much easier. I was worried they would not go through the leather of the Capezio shoes but they did. That made it a little difficult as I had to push it though and then feel the right spot to pinch the snap closed. I used needle nose pliers and they worked great. Thank you!

Never sewing my ribbons ever AGAIN! These are ingenious- it took me literally one minute to do each pointe shoe- I recommend using a flat based pair of pliers as they will give better tension. They hold the ribbons on far better than sewing EVER could- I can't feel them while wearing my pointe shoes and they're extremely durable- I have to say I'm VERY impressed. Definitely an AWESOME product!

I really liked using these over sewing, that's for sure. But it was pretty difficult to get the teeth through the elastic, the ribbon, and the ballet shoe, and even harder to press hard enough to get the pieces to mesh together once that was accomplished. I worked out a way to do it, and then the process became much faster. It took me 30 minutes to do both shoes, compared to 3 hours of sewing, so a definitely improvement!You can't see them once they're in, and my daughter says she can't feel them. Overall, very satisfied and will probably buy again.

I used to always sew my elastics on my pointe shoes. But now that I've discovered these snap ons, I will never see again! The snaps are quick and convenient. They are strong and will hold the elastics in place. You don't need to buy the pliers if you already have pliers in your toolbox.

Good idea; however they are difficult to get through shoe and elastics
