Milky Way - Vintage Flower Seeds Soap Mold - Clear PVC - Not Silicone - MW 180

This mold is perfect for hard oil Cold Process soap. When I use 100% coconut oil....these bars literally fall out of the mold (after freezing for 30-60 mins). Be sure to put a towel on the counter when unmolding. Or put a plate on the exposed soap side of the mold and then flip it over, like a sandwhich. This mold is not meant to bend and flex like silicone molds. I hand wash my Milky Way molds in the sink with my other soaping supplies (no dishwasher). Making these soaps for my flower gardening friends, who will be thrilled.

This mold made beautiful melt-and-pour soaps, but it was nearly impossible to get them out of the mold. I had to essentially destroy the mold to do it. My fault for not realizing that it was not silicone - so taken by the image that I didn’t read the description carefully. There is probably a spray or something you could use to make releasing the soap easier, but I just poured the soap base in and paid the price.

The soaps are beautiful. Yes it's plastic. I have to stick it in the freezer for a few minutes to unmold. Just lovely soaps result.
