I'm not entirely sure that this product actually works.
I'm not entirely sure that this product works. After weeks of use, where it has made no difference to the condensation that shrouded the inside of my car, its windows are now clear from all condensation but that could be through a change in the London weather. The manufacturer, while suggesting that the product is nuked in a Microwave for 5 minutes, without providing the wattage that should be used, goes on to suggest that the best way to dry out (recharge) the particles inside the sleeves is to remove them from these sleeves and cook them in an oven for two hours at 120°, celsius. I have done this & it does dry the particles out but I have the Devil's own chance of returning them into the sleeve. The particles are very light and move about far too energetically with only the slightest provocation. After choosing this option the first time I recharged them, I'm still finding one or two of these rogue tiny particles on my kitchen floor. However 12 minutes in a 600 watt microwave does the job, equally as adequately with them remaining in their sleeve. Originally, I used the full 1000 watts my microwave is capable of cooking at but four minutes into this an audio/visual warning signal warned me that the temperature inside was getting dangerously high and the microwave's thermal cut out, cut in.

OK
Not used in anger yet...I was expecting the beads to be in an inner bag, but they are not. They are only held in by the foldover velcro strip at the top. This worries me a bit as there's not a lot to prevent them from spilling over the car if the kids accidentally got hold of them, or even if the velcro tab got caught on something and opened a bit. (the kids' beanbags have an inner liner for this very purpose, and this should really be the same?)After use, I am finding many bits of crushed silica balls wherever I've put this thing... in my footwell and over the dashboard. It seems to work, but needs a better way of containing the silica. I read early reviews suggesting that the beads are contained within inner bags. Shame they didn't carry on doing this.Idea: Make the viewing window transparent polythene, shouldn't affect operation and moisture balls can still be seen.

The best I've found
This product keeps the inside of windscreens clear after a cold night and seems more robust than some others on the market that use clay. The dehumidifier use silica gel which is used by many manufacturers to package goods - which we often find as little packets in all sorts of goods usually labelled "do not eat". The danger with all of them is if the packaging gets wet and degrades or breaks open - and this one seems better than most. Most people seem to use a radiator to dry them out - but I prefer a quicker option (it still takes at least an hour) by taking the 3x 500gram bags out of the outer sleeve and drying them in an oven at just over 100 degrees C. Weighing them allows you to judge when they are completely dried out and you get back to below 500 gram but do take care handling them (use oven gloves) at this temperature.

Brilliant piece of car kit.
Can't believe how good these actually are. I get in my car with two wet dogs on many occasion and would normally spend the freezing winter months scraping ice from the INSIDE of my windscreen and sitting around for ages with the engine running, waiting until I could see enough to drive. I was dubious about this product's efficiency at first, but I can honestly say that since using them, I've never so much as needed to wipe the inside of the car windows. I leave one on the dashboard doing it's job, while the other one dries on a radiator in the house. One will easily keep working for at least a couple of weeks before I need to change it and the other's dry in plenty of time for the swap. Best invention since Johnny Depp.

There's a trick to drying these!
This is a great product and I'm not sure why they rate differently to nearly identical things on here. They are all just the same silica gel beads in a bag.You need to remember that these will sit in a warehouse absorbing mouisture for as long as it takes for someone to order them so don't expect them to work out of the box.Dry them out before use.Trick/Tip! Empty the contents into two large oven dishes, larger the better, for max surface area. Do not leave in the bags. Dry as instructed at about 120°C and periodically open your oven door a little to let the water vapour/steam out. Things work on equilibria so think about it for a minute and work out why yours might not dry properly when you chuck a densely packed bag into a sealed oven...I've had these for a year now and it's transformed my 21 year old car from having that damp old car small to being nice and dry. I've bought a second set for my dad's classic car as I'm so impressed with them.

Better than nothing - maybe?
Can't really say I am thrilled by these, yes they do work a little, but hardly a dramatic difference, even over the mild winter we have just had. Drying them out "sort-of" works using the microwave, I am fortunate to have a dehumidifier which allows them to dry a little more while they cool down (as confirmed by the change in weight!).Biggest problem is leaking silica gel, however carefully the velcro is closed, some gets out in use - this stuff is toxic and I have to take extreme car my dog doesn't ingest the granules that invariably leak out into the car, and when I am "recharging" the bags.
