Animal Doodles (Usborne Activity Cards) (Activity and Puzzle Cards)

I bought this for my animal-loving 6 yr old daughter for our 2 hr train ride to London... Have to say she really loves it. Even my 10 yr old daughter loves to have a few goes at it. Now that we've been back home for a week now, my 6 yr old daughter still takes out the pack of cards and draws on it every now and then. It notice how it stimulates her creativity and feeds her love of doodling. The fact that they are wipe-clean cards makes it even more appealing for her, as she relishes drawing a new thing on the same card every time she plays with it too. Unfortunately I have the same gripe as some of the previous reviewers about the longevity of the marker that came in the pack. It did not even last a day into our trip even though she only used it for about half an hour on the train and just before bed time in the hotel. It really dried up that quickly, even though we always made sure it was tightly capped after use. In the end we walked into a Ryman's stationery shop in the middle of Mayfair whilst waiting for my elder daughter to finish her workshop in the Royal Institution nearby, to get a proper whiteboard marker to replace the dried out marker in the pack. And what a difference that made. The whiteboard marker has not dried out as yet, and as I mentioned earlier, we have been home for over a week since then and my daughter still doodles on these cards with the shop bought marker every day.So my advice to you is, if you're planning to take these cards with you on a trip and especially if you may be going to somewhere where whiteboard markers may not be easily available in shops - say, in the middle of a wood on a camping trip or something - I would recommend getting hold of some proper whiteboard markers to take along with you before the trip. Just in case you get a bad batch, where the marker supplied dries out too quickly. It does seem to happen not that rarely from the reviews and my own experience.

Over the years I have bought my daughter quite a few of the different Usborne cards, optical illusions, code cracking, things to do in a car, and many others. They have all been such great value. I have bought many as gifts for her friends and they all loved them. I am now back on them buying for some younger children who are now getting the right age for them. Again they have been very well received. Highly recommended to kids 7-10, keeps them occupied for hours.

I bought these cards for a 7 year old as a little gift. We met the family in a restaurant so the little girl got them out and started to use them. They are lovely, lots of activity cards cards, dot joining, mazes, pictures to finish etc. and it all wiped off easily with a paper napkin. Black dry wipe pen included but I also added a coloured dry wipe pen. Excellent buy-the Christmas doodle cards in same range are great too.

The wipe clean card give a good range of activities. The pen is nice size for a 4 to 5 year old. Has some nice drawing activities as well as simple puzzles. Kept our four year old enthralled all the way from York to Portsmouth. Everything fits in the box. You will need a tissue and an extra pen will help because they always drop the one they are using.

Love these. Handbag sized portable fun that keeps my 4 year old quiet and occupied when we're out for dinner... no more mischievous behaviour from boredom!

The cards themselves are amazing. What a great idea and good value for money. Will keep myself and 4 year old daughter entertained on a long journey to NZ, trains, planes & airports. However, the pen did not even work I'd give that less than 1 star.

Brilliant idea. I keep a pack of these in my bag with a couple of the pens for when we are stuck on a train or in a queue. Keeps the kids quiet for a while and good fun.
