Orpiment is a bright(!) orange-yellowish mineral that has been used as a natural pigment for paint since before the 19th century. This bright mineral is great if you are looking to experiment with inlay.The product is sold in exactly 1/2 ounce units. This material is considered to be very coarse to coarse, ranging between 4.75 millimeters to 2 millimeters (between sieve #5 - #10). This orpiment is specifically from the Quiruvilca Mine located in Peru. This product is NOT man-made, mixed with resin, or stabilized. Please be careful when buying mineral inlay since most products have a caveat in fine writing that states that this stone might be man-made, mixed with resin, or is made from TruStone (plain stone mixed with dyed resin to make the product seem authentic and is allowed to be called natural). Stone authenticity is extremely important to all artisans; therefore, we strive to validate the source of all our minerals before they are processed.
