OS maps have always been high quality trusted items that have been part of out travelling lives for sixty years.Now we're looking to move to the west country, it was important to be able to have all the information on a trusted platform, showing everything we need to know about areas we like.These days, with Google and Apple maps, OS must have felt under pressure from the competition, but I was pleased to be able to download each of the maps I bought, and they are in the OS App on both iPhone and iPad. This is particularly useful for examining small detail on the maps. By using the iPhone app, I can expand like any other photo and see things I would need a magnifying glass for on the paper version. There are other facilities in the app as well, like planning routes, National Park Trails and Explorer and Landranging mapping. Some of these functions require a subscription but, for £25 a year, it seems to be great value for money.There is definitely a huge advantage over Google maps because of the sheer amount of detail available, with footpaths, trails and the invaluable contour lines.Nothing not to love about OS maps these days, especially with the smartphone interactions. Five stars well deserved!

What can I say. The Ordnance Survey is the envy of the world. If you are going to explore the Exmouth and Sidmouth area take this map with you.

The perfect item to keep in my holiday home with the usual Ordnance Survey detail and clarity. Don't forget that buying the map also gives you access to the download version that you can keep on your Android phone or iPhone and use on the OS app, which is a great feature when you don't want to have the carry the map with you. The app version also comes loaded with recommended walking routes and, of course, GPS tracking.
