If you want to test gold silver etc correctly then you need this kit, if you can't afford 20 grand for an xraygun

Great purchase. Was quoted £200 to buy a load of gold from me off one of those we buy gold shops, they told me the gold was only 9ct and some of the items wasn't solid gold. Tested my gold and turns out many items were 18ct and what he said were gold plated were actually solid 9ct and hallmarked. Total worth of my gold for scrap value is £750 and with out this kit I wouldn't of known better. I also bought some scales from amazon as well. So if you buy this kit then get your self's some scales separately. I can highly recommend. Top tip to clean the stone just use a drop of the 18ct solution it wipes out all the 9ct marks and makes the 18ct less visible.

The good: The stone and gold solutions are good and fit for purpose, I’ve tested 9,14,18 and 22ct gold and all results were as expected on the hallmarked pieces The bad Minus one star because the silver testing doesn’t work at all, all the results come out as yellow. Initially I thought because the items I had were fake but then I tested my Royal mint coins and those turned out yellow rather than red. Will need to buy a separate solution that actually works.

I used to work in pawnbroking years ago so done a lot of testing on gold. I tested silver and one min it’s silver, the next it’s not. Tested 3 9ct rings that are hallmarked with assay office and this kit is saying it’s not gold. When I applied the acid it disappeared. One of the ring I purchased from a pawnbrokers which they test before they take in and this ring has a cluster of diamonds. I will be returning this as it’s not accurate. Also when I got this delivered they left it on my door step, this contains acid which is classed as dangerous goods which should have been handed to me and not left on door step! I
