Visible Time
The highly visible RED makes all the difference. You can see it from across the room. It is absolutely quiet. I like the option to silence the alarm. I use it for time management for myself and clients.

Sturdy, easy to use
We use this to help my son keep time limits in mind, he really likes it. I picked the green one so it is easy to find in a room. The alarm is subtle but you can hear it, it doesn't repeat so it isn't annoying. The red part is very easy to see and give a great indication of the nature of a block of time for those still learning what 5 minutes feels like.

Best Pomodoro timer yet, but somewhat ill-suited for open offices
Pros:- Unlike the other reviewers, my timer is still holding up well after 1.5+ years of daily use (8+ uses/day, frequently throwing it in my backpack). The only casualty so far is that my toddler pried off the pointy part of the dial to help set the timer, which makes it a little harder to grasp it- I find the highly visible "time remaining" a much better way / more motivating way to convey time left in a work block than a simple time countdown- Also unlike other reviewers, I like the "twist to set" function. The original Pomodoro Method actually recommends taking some manual "set timer" action like this at the start of each work block. While I'm not convinced it's essential, I definitely don't mind it. It's true that the timer lacks resolution beyond ~30 second increments, but I don't really care if I set my timer for 25 minutes or 25 minutes and 30 seconds.Cons:- It's hard to use this in an open office environment without disturbing others. The only two volume options are LOUD and silent, which is fine at home but unfair to those around me in the office. I'd love some alarm that alerts me at my desk but is less disturbing to those around me, like a bright blinking light on the front clock face. I also think an additional "low" volume setting would make this less offensive in open offices.- Similarly, I'd love some "acknowledge alarm" button on the top that silences the alarm for this block. Right now, I do this by leaping for the alarm, fumbling for the small switch on the back, and sliding it from "volume on" to "volume off". This would probably be less important if there were a better alarm mode for not aggravating others (e.g. low volume or blinking light), but would still be nice regardlessOverall, I definitely continue to recommend this to others.

Great for ADHD, and for not being late
What it does: you can set an amount of time, and at a glance INTUITIVELY see how much time you have left in red. The beauty of it being 1 hour is that not only is that usually enough time for most tasks you will use it for, but with use, you will learn to very intuitively read the red space at a glance and monitor your time effortlessly.Great as a tool for using the Pomodoro method or some variation. Essentially, when you are having trouble focusing, you can set it for 25 minutes, starting some focused work you are perhaps avoiding, with the knowledge that after that time you will reward yourself with 5-10 minutes of break time. In my case, that's usually all I need to get started, and depending on how I feel after, I may do more 25 minute sessions, or switch to more organic work blocks and breaks before I start to feel too drained. For not being late, I find it helpful to set it say for 30 minutes during which time I have to shower, dress, etc before leaving somewhere on time. I can put the time on the sink as I shower to immediately see how much time I have when I get out, put it on a table near where I dress etc.

Love this thing!
Wanted something to visualize time remaining…I am a call center agent and I would often not notice certain breaks or meetings. This has helped me to stay on track.

Delivers just one beep
The media could not be loaded. I thought all TimeTimers of this size were the same, but unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the case. The TimeTimers I have seen and heard online had an alarm that beeped four times, whereas the one I received let out only a singular beep. I contacted the seller to tell them of my concern and their response was that the TimeTimer has more than one variation, some come with a softer alarm/less beeps and others with a louder alarm/more beeps. I'm upset I got the short end of the stick, but it gets the job done. It helps keep track of my Pomodoros, I just have to be more attentive to the alarm.

〰 Expensive 〰 But Worth It 〰
The media could not be loaded. I bought this No Ticking 60 minutes Time Timer to help me during homework and study time for my 3 oldest boys who seem to have no concept of time at all when it comes to studying or reading for school or whatnot. I wanted a visual reference guide that would be easy for them to follow. This product came highly recommended by my boys' teachers so I decided to give it a try.The timer comes with very simple visual instructions on how to set it up and use it. You need a single AA battery as it is not included in the box and the timer comes with a protective silicone cover that is already in place on the timer itself (you can also buy different cover colors separately). The cover is very easy to remove and re-install and it provides shock absorption if you were to drop it on the floor. The battery chamber is easy to access with just using a fingernail and snaps shut very easily as well. The back panel also includes a sound switch with which you can set to have an audio alarm or not. No matter what setting you choose, your timer will still count down the time, this just controls if it will beep or not when the time has expired. Also, the front of the timer has a lens that protects the red disk from damage. To set a countdown on the timer, you need to turn the center knob counter-clockwise till you reach the desired time. This will move the red disk into position. As the time expires, the red disk (aka remaining time) will start disappearing by moving in a clockwise direction. When the red disk is gone, time is up. This timer does not tick like most clocks do. It will silently count down until it reached the end of the timer. We do own different brands of these types of timers, and so, here is how the Time Timer differs from the other less expensive generic timers that can also be found on Amazon :1 - Time Timer has a silicone cover which adds shock protection 〰 My other timers do not have this feature2 - Time Timer operates with 1 AA battery 〰 My other timers operate with 2AAA batteries3 - Time Timer only has the option of sounding an alert or muting the alert 〰 My other timers have the option to change the volume of the alert : have a softer alert or a louder alert. BUT they lack the ability to mute the alerts completely like Time Timer does.4 - Time Timer does NOT have the option to control the length of the audible alert. 〰 My other timers have the option of a 3 seconds sound alert or a 60 seconds sound alert.5 - Time Timer's audio alert control is on the backside of the timer and is easily accessible 〰 My other timers have the volume and alert duration switches in the battery chamber, so you need to remove the battery cover to access these settings. At the end of the day, the major difference between the two is that Time Timer can be used in absolute silence, by deactivating the alert completely. And the generic ones that I own have a very clear sounding alert even on the lowest volume setting and on the lowest alert duration. So, if you are working in a quiet office or are sharing work spaces with others, Time Timer could be your best option since it can operate without any disturbing sounds. Now that I have tried both systems, I can honestly say that I prefer Time Timer because of the silicone cover and the ''no alert sound'' option. I do wish they would be less expensive though. But I will be buying extras so that each child can have his own. Great purchase. Would recommend. If my review was helpful let me know by clicking on the ''Helpful'' button :) 👍🏻

Great timer but short life
We love this timer ! It's our everyday helper with our son.But we bought this one, pricier than all the other because it was supposed to last long. Turns out after 3 years he just suddenly stopped working. Changed the battery, nothing helps. This kind of product when well built can last for decades so disappointed because we feel we would have get the same result with a cheaper one.

Easy to use, kids understand it well
We use it to keep bed time on track, kids know to finish before time runs out and can easily understand how long they have left.
