a great gift for a tech inclined teen!
my nephew really enjoyed this when i got it for him as a gift for his birthday! he said he had a great time putting it together and it worked well once he was done! it took him a good few months to complete between other hobbies but he found it challenging and interesting to put together.

Great set, poor website
Comes with a shed load of components, in a decent case (although once you take stuff out, you'll struggle to ever get it all back in!) So from a hardware point of view, you're golden. The website though, is a mess. This "Ultimate" kit isn't listed as an option, and you use the 3-in-1 starter kit page instead. There is poor structure to the instructions (for example, it has a page each for each component, but a well structured website or tutorial would have these under a sub heading, with something like "Learn about the components in your kit" as a header. As it is, its just a list that merges onto projects you can do.) The other thing, explanations aren't great, and it's more a "copy this text" job, without any real understanding of WHY you are doing what you are doing. All the example code text links are broken (there is a frame on the webpage for them, but it has "Ot oh, something's gone wrong" in every one. It provides links to GitHub with the code instead, but it's a clunky experience. So, hardware, good, website, needs a load of development in my opinion. A shame, as with nicely laid out tutorials, this would be an ideal set.

Perfect starter kit!
I've used a few Arduino and Arduino knockoff kits before. This one is by far the best, with lots of clear instructions, good quality parts, and a genuine Arduino included. It does what it says on the tin, and does it perfectly. Recommended!

Great starter kit
The kit comes in a small box and contains a genuine Arduino UNO R4 Minima along with a laser cut acrylic board to construct a moving vehicle, motors, water pump, sensors, an LCD display and also a selection of LEDs, resistors, capacitors and a mini breadboard to help connect circuits to the Arduino. The SunFounder online documentation / build guide is very good indeed - really wasn't expecting this, but it's written in good English (as well as German and Japanese) and contains clear photos, wiring diagrams and the relevant code. It's well organised into Basic Projects, Car Projects and IoT projects.I unfortunately had a problem with the L9110s module (motor driver board) as one channel didn't work - I've reached out to SunFounder but not had a reply as yet.I've made many Arduino and Raspberry Pi projects in the past, but this kit was still a lot of fun to play with - so far I've got the car project working with the IR obstacle avoidance and also the line following.Good fun for anyone interested in learning electronics and microcontrollers.

Looks like a good set although more suited for adults
This is the kind of kit I'd get for a kid to learn with me, rather than something to just pass to a kid and let them get on with it. It's not really set up to just pick up and learn but is more a useful set for an adult to go through and then take a kid with them. I'll be playing with it myself not having any kids, but when I was a lad I think this would have seemed rather intimidating and I was the sort who made his own bikes, played with powered model aircraft and used home computers. It might be worth someone else producing a more child-centric manual for it maybe.

This abundance of components provides a fertile ground for experimentation and exploration, allowing users to create a wide range of projects. Its compact size and powerful capabilities make it an ideal platform for beginners to learn the basics of programming and electronics. The kit is accompanied by a wealth of online tutorials that provide step-by-step guidance for building various projects. These tutorials are well-structured and easy to follow, making them ideal for beginners to grasp the concepts and techniques involved.
