A bobbly plastic ball with a light stuck inside it
Bought this for my partner to prevent her from having to keep the damned TV on when I'm trying to sleep... Well, it hasn't really worked in that sense as she now keeps the television AND this on at the same time, making the bedroom look like the queue outside a Las Vegas casino...Pros - It's pretty bright (not really a pro for me, but as it's a light...), it has three different lighting modes (though she typically only puts it on the bright white one that isn't particularly conducive to good sleep etiquette) and it's small enough to be portable...Cons - it has to be plugged in permanently (battery life on full charge is about 4-5 hours!), the charging cable provided is so small that if you sneeze, you'll probably lose it, the globe has a very rough, cheap, 3d printed design that doesn't look anywhere near as sleek and "wow" as it does in the pictures and it's basically an LED light planted inside a plastic ball.... No nice ceiling patterns or vibrant space orb here... It really is a chunk of bobbly plastic with a light inside it.You may also need advanced Jenga training to figure out how to construct the Escher's staircase of a stand. In short, it works as a light but has appealing battery life, looks incredibly cheap and, in my honest opinion, is massively overpriced for what you're getting!

Full moon, but only 3*s
We have a small selection of night lights already, but I’ve become quite a fan of them as they can be left round the house to avoid the need to put main lights on. I thought this would make a nice addition, partly because I’d just read an interesting book about the moon. I have to say it’s not quite what I was expecting, since it’s not very much like the moon at all, but more like a space scene projected onto an uneven sphere. It arrived with some charge in it and came on just as I was taking it out of the box. The button is very small, but can be quite sensitive. It cycles through off and three different lighting modes (yellow, dim, bright) with each touch. The difference between the last two is not really evident in the pictures, but is noticeable in person. None of them give a great deal of light – it’s not intended as a bedside light to read by, for example – but it would be enough for, say, a night-time trip to the bathroom.I think it’s quite pretty, but it’s not our favourite night light. First, the operating button is a bit fiddly and not very convenient, being on the underside. Of course, since it’s near-spherical you can put the button where you like, simply by rotating that light, but the underside does not have the same pattern as the rest. Second, it needs charging far too often. We have other lights that go several weeks between charges, but this one seems to require charging every day or two, after just a few hours of use. This has also impacted on where we keep it, since I don’t want it too far from a usb socket.

Surprisingly wonderful
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. This moon lamp is delivered in an unassuming box with short, badly translated instructions (see picture). I was pretty unimpressed and thought I wouldn’t like the lamp when lit. However I was proved wrong - this lamp is fascinating. It gives a lovely warm glow which has helped it find its home on the stove (when not in use) to give a warm glow in the hearth. The attached video shows some of the range of colours and hues. The base is very easy to assemble. The lamp charges via a USB and the battery lasts for several hours. This would make an unusual gift.

Moonstruck!
3D Moon Lamp - Starry NightThis is an absolutely gorgeous lamp - though the LEDs cannot be replaced.=== THINGS I LIKE ABOUT THIS PRODUCT ===* The effect is beautiful - it really does look like a distant moon with stars and clouds projected onto it* The lamp is tactile as well as visually appealing* The lamp is easy to switch between its 4 settings - off, very dull (barely lit), subdued and a bit brighter - by simply brushing against the tiny fleck of metal poking out of the bottom of the bottom of the lamp* Sturdy construction (eg did not break when it rolled onto the floor!)* The ingenious wooden cradle fits together easily and stays together well=== NIGGLES ===* Unless you have large hands, this lamp is too large to pick up in one hand* There is no permanent fixing for the lamp, so it can just be knocked off its wooden cradle and then go rolling across the floor/bed* There doesn't appear to be any way to change the LED bulb when it wears out - you'd have to crack open the lamp, and then the effect would be ruinedFor sale at the time of writing this review at £18.19.

A wonderful nightlite if you leave it tilted to one side you can press it on or off
I like the size of this - it's quite large - and the ability to change from golden to yellow to grey white to black (when off). The phone doesn't seem to reproduce the difference between the second and third colour but it is the least yellow of the three and I think the most usual colour of the moon we see.I would have preferred if it had the ability to connect with WiFi so could turn it off remotely but this is a minor point, and if near bed you can do this yourself if you put it on its side a little. As it's perfectly round this is possible. The button is touch sensitive you don't need a press just a touch and even quite little children will manage this I'm sure though I think the point is if used for them it will be turned off by a parent! This is a beautiful lamp which comes with a self assembly wooden stand and the usb cable to charge it. There is a rubber cover near the touch button which opens to do the charge. The cable is quite short so if you were thinking of leaving it plugged it make it near a socket with usb.
